They tried dress codes while I was there. 2002-05. They were called Racist and the Reville had constant stories about them.
Dress codes wouldn't work today unless they were explicitly racist. Unsavory characters dress up now and don't do the 90s gang bang/baggy stuff anymore.

I don’t know if it’s the aging of the OT or not, but it’s kind wild how different this thread is than the Stanford swimmer rape case
This is the first time I've ever seen this website unified in calling men who sleep with drunk women rapists. That's for sure.

This is clearly by biggest fear as a father of a daughter. As far as sons are concerned, I’m much more concerned about them doing something stupid and then dealing with the consequences. With daughters, you still have the fear of them doing something stupid but you also have the fear of someone doing something sinister to them.

Yeh it definitely wasn’t unified when the lsu tennis player rape story was released

I say charge her friends she went to the bar with too.
We were there in the days of GHB being really popular. It was a drug that made guys get drunk and feel good. But it knocked females out cold. It was dyed blue so it would stand out in drinks. In 1999/00 if you left a beer out unattended it would look like a St Patrick's day beer.
You always kept an eye on your friends. Guys and girls. Of course sometimes people would leave with randos but others would be around to know it was consensual and where they were going.

The poli board is treating this like the perpetrators held her down behind Reggies.
That's why I had to literally chuckle at the guy promoting Greek life. Literally the same issues just a safer street for underage drunk girls who couldn't consent and just had sex to walk away from.

Not entirely. A few have still questioned how promiscuous she may have been... at .319 BAC.

A few. I would say usually, not always, when the story is dealing with rape and alcohol, the majority uses the “regret rape” story line here

It would be better and more regulated at a fraternity. Yeah there would be issues but the brothers would keep each other in check.

Sure, but there are also a ton of guys on here who have defended the rapists with a lower BAC.
Hell, I imagine if many guys having a severe emotional reaction to this thread actually did an in-depth analysis of their memories, they would be the IRL version of this meme:

With public shame and ridicule. There is no crime in the court of law. But them leaving her alone led to her death. Every bar. I mean every bar late at night has guys looking for girls too drunk to say No.
Her friends failed her.
Her friends failed her.

you're not wrong in that the clothes these undesirables wear is much closer to what LSU students wear these days, that is for sure. certainly much harder to get away with a dress code, but something must be done.
also, fwiw, reggies had their full 2000s era dress code by the door when i was in school (2012-2017). they may have taken down since though. i definitely remember seeing (white) dudes being turned away for white/graphic tees circa 2017.

But this was never true, on the whole. Not when I was at LSU 20 years ago and even not now when the regulations are severe.
Greek orgs keep getting shut down specifically for underage drinking.
Are you honestly arguing that frat brothers prevented all of their boys from having sex with girls who had been drinking? REALLY?
And I am not saying this is a frat-specific issue, just saying this same meme (guy having sex with drunk girl) is pervasive with college kids. People are acting like this situation is the end of Baton Rouge when they have rarely acted the same with other stories (with admittedly less tragic endings).

Was Reggies the one with "No Mr. T chains" or was that OBs in LC? I forget.

That is a gross oversimplification of what happened here and you know it.
