If a person drinks faster than one drink per hour, the alcohol simply stays in the body, waiting its turn to be metabolized. The result is increasing levels of intoxication. A person's BAC can continue to rise even while he or she is passed out. Even after a person stops drinking, alcohol in the stomach and intestine continues to enter the bloodstream and circulate throughout the body.

I get all that. The head scratcher is because people were saying you’d be comatose, not able to function, much less have sex.

The video shows otherwise.

Looks like her friends tried pretty hard to stop her. The video doesn't matter much the BAC "science" wins.

That girl seems like she knows her IMO. She got pretty close to her. She took the same path. Where is she? She needs to come forward. Maybe this video will scare her to come forward.

She doesn’t need it to help her, really. The post-Miranda statements properly fricked them

Their attorney will surely claim that they're not medical doctors and therefore weren't qualified to make such statements. If anything, they'll most probably end up in one of these sheriff-owned satellite facilities, sleeping next to some kid who got caught with some dope. They'll get a trustee job and watch cable tv in the air conditioning while washing cop cars in the sun during the days.

And this is supposed to be a deterrent?

Louisiana's intoxication laws are a joke

You interpret that other girl in the last few frames of the video as a friend trying to stop her? Interesting.

If I recall the affidavit from the perp says friends left her already. Surely if this is indeed a friend, she will have keen insight as a witness.

Actually, that not how it works.

The end of the clip clearly shows her foot dragging and them carrying her.

I think a lay witness can offer evidence of visible drunkenness.

a different side of what?

She was too drunk to make any decisions - they took advantage of her

Character witnesses will have a crucial part of this trial… what kind of girl was she (I have no idea) but if her peers paint her as a heavy drinker , super party girl, adventurer, that sleeps around, and can handle her booze
Under the law her past is not part of the present - In fact an attorney I hunt with occasionally had to break that news to one of our fraternity brothers that had a drunken hookup with a cokehead, alcoholic absolute slut when she tried after the fact to claim she was incoherent - he paid pretty dearly. But the orleans parish jury didn't really have his peers.

I didn't even notice this girl watching the video until now.
It'd be interesting to know if this was in fact someone she knew..a friend...that was trying to get her to ride with her and not them.

Does it, though? It had to be enlarged and slowed down just to be able to see, and even then it's still grainy and questionable. All depends on how jurors interpret it. I think the fact that she got across the street without any stumbling or impairment will work against her.

Whoever that girl is, she definitely needs to come forward. Friend or not, she had a firsthand view of how she ended up in their vehicle.

I see her feet as still moving .. though I think she was being helped along. I wouldn’t say I see her being drug along.

but if the bar is telling the truth that they stopped serving her bc she was too drunk - and then was hit by a car and hospitalized a little more than an hour later - it’s not like she wasn’t drunk in between
