The problem isn't really that Reggie's allows underage drinking. They are all the same (with the exception of Fred's), if you have a scannable fake id you'll be able to get drinks. You definitely aren't having trouble getting drinks if you worked there and/or have friends that work there. What make Reggie's worse than the others is the crowd that they attract.

so what are you going to say if (when) it is confirmed that reggie's was giving her drinks? then is the grilling acceptable?

Tate's initial response is never going to be OK in my book.

But everything else is fair game.

ETA further clarification, I've got a pretty big problem with any bar catching so much shite over a rape. Had Brooks died of alcohol poisoning, the crusade against the bar makes infinitely more sense.

You don't think Brooks' BAC level directly led to her death in the middle of a street at 2:50 am?

No, I think a car hitting her directly led to her death.

ETA you people downvoting are cracking me up

Just an observation:

Anything that strays even on a sub-atomic level from the "she was a total Angel who never did anything wrong and shouldn't be held at all responsible for any of her actions no matter how stupid nor questioned in any way, shape or form because we've already decided the guilt or innocence of these thugs" is certainly frowned upon....

But for real, if these azzholes did what is alleged, Blood-Eagle them.

Also, I've noticed a looooooooot of people on this thread who are sort of injecting themselves into this argument.

I've seen the "She was a pretty blonde College girl and would never do X, Y or Z".....

Ya'll are obviously projecting some sort of non-realistic principals on women at large, probably because you know someone who is similar to this girl.

Don't be an idiot.

There are TOOOOONNNNNSSSS of "pretty blonde college girls" who willingly engage in some sick shite.

It looks like THIS isn't the case, but ya'll need to grow up a little if only for the sake of USING this terrible incident as a learning tool so that nothing like this happens again.

Teach your boys not to be animals.

Conversely, teach your girls to act like ladies.

The world will be a better, safer place.

Pretty much like arguing that vomit in her throat sleeping is what caused her death, not her BAC level.

Reggie's sold alcohol to:

1. Someone under 21

2. Someone who already was drunk.

Reggie's is liable civil and possibly criminally for doing 1 and 2.

Can they be sued for her death? I'm sure they will be.

One can only hope. I'd like to see that fricker who owns the place in jail. How many times can you get hand rapped for underage drinking? He's a fricking scourge who deserves whatever bureaucratic hell anyone in power can throw at him.

Directly? Obviously not, that's called alcohol poisoning.

A major factor? Yeah. Indirectly.

If she had choked to death, maybe. But she didn't. She got hit by a car.

The letter has some merits. It rightly takes Tate to task for making it alcohol centric rather than thug centric.

But THIS rape didn't take place on campus and the rapists were not LSU students. The letter itself deflects from the central issue.

Tate has a platform that itself refutes his own writings. Would love to hear him HAVE to address what in black culture made it ok to do what Washington and Dezz (supposedly his name) did.

But he can't. To do so would overturn his world. He too is part of the problem.

You already acknowledged that if her drinking caused the death then its fair game. Her BAC level absolutely directly led to her safety and health leaving that bar. Zero difference in my brain.

so are you going to be upset when madison's family sues reggie's out of existence? feels like you wouldn't agree with that lawsuit

I think you should probably learn how to read.

Again, unsurprising. I will no longer be engaging you. You're either stupid, trolling, or both.

Would a white president have to come out and explain why what in white culture made it ok when two white boys rape a drunk girl? Your entire premise seems a bit amateur.

Agree 100%. I started going there in 2000 and the crowd was strictly lsu students. It's been taken over by ghetto trash and the owners don't care.

I said it before in this thread to just look at mellow mushroom. They had rap nights and it led to them closing down.

The Fred's owner should lead the way and move the bars elsewhere. Instead, he is expanding
