I haven’t read every page, but I have read the warrant and affidavit. Further, I have noticed that this has become a racial incident.

Does anyone know for a fact if the 17-year-old was white or black? Sounds like the 17-year-old was the most culpable. Yeah, Washington is a complete fricking animal and deserves to be buried underneath Angola, but it was a 17 year old, who started all of this sh!t.

I know this isn’t going to be a popular opinion in this string, but I’m not judging the 18-year-old white kid as harshly as some most of the string. The kid was 18 years old. He’s still a kid. He was a witness to something he did not want to witness. But I remember being 18 and trying to tell your "friends“ not to do something wasn’t easy. At 18 you’re still learning. Your brain is still developing. In short, you’re still kind of an idiot. From reading the affidavit, I think it’s clear he knew right from wrong. I don’t think he knew that he had a legal duty to step in. How many 18 year olds would?

In the end, I think it was somewhat brave of him to come forward. It doesn’t sound like anyone was considering that this girl was raped before he came forward. He came forward and was extremely remorseful about the role he played even though he didn’t actually rape her – although it sounds like it could’ve. I’m not sure I would judge him so harshly. And, I would say this whether the kid was black or white.

Having said that, I would judge harshly the 27 year old uncle. He should’ve stopped this before it even got started. He was old enough to tell the 17-year-old and his animal of a nephew to stop what they were doing. Even if he had to get physical with those two animals, he should’ve been the adult in the car and stopped the rape. Again I think of myself at 18 years old and 27 years old, and realize what a great difference there is in brain function.

Of course, if the 17-year-old turns out to be black, and the 18-year-old white kid gets a sentence any less than any of the three black animals in the car, there’s liable to be race riots in Baton Rouge regardless of the underlying facts.
