I mostly agree with you; the problem is that costs of attendance exponentially outgrew salaries. The debt problem is hard to get aroud.

That’s a good point. The cost side - bloated administrations and overpaid tenured professors, etc - is out of control. It’s a billion dollar business and they don’t want to give any of it up. .

There are a lot of people who go to college in order to get jobs that don’t pay much. Social work, childhood education, theology, etc. So we’re only allowing the children of the wealthy to do those jobs now?

I don’t disagree. So many are in their cushy cocoon of academia teaching three classes a week. Never worked a private industry job in their life. Education should not be immune to examination of cost/benefit and fat trimming. “Sorry Dr. Smith, but your department can’t continue in this deficit. Your department is being paid more than the school is getting from your enrollment. I’m sure you’ll land on your feet.””

You are the problem. Administrative salaries are *a* problem. But it exists because you say unsupportable shite like
Khan Academy offers all kinds of shite for free, where the child you've raised for 17 years can all of a sudden expose themselves to Plato, or FFS, Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics. It's worth $20, but you want to comitt $200k in spending because "education good."
Do you realize that Ivy league undergrad degrees are functionally useless?
