We are made aware when our dentist will be out so we have the choice of scheduling or not and we are charged less because the dental exam isn’t being performed.

Oh God...first world problem. You dont think the guy should have have the opportunity to go on vacation. Then you have the need to be "offended" because he didn't check out his vacation with you first? Geez the entitlement generation, this is why the USA is so F-ed up.

Mine does. The hygienist only takes X-rays and holds the water sprayer for the dentist. Dentist does everything else and only charges $115.

So your dentist must have ‘assistants’ not ‘hygienists’

Which I don’t blame him bc it cuts down on operating costs.

No, the only thing that sucks is that I lost some of my bone structure in my face. Getting dentures ages you

That’s a shame. Do you have the ones that lock into place or the other ones that just sit on top your gums? I’ve heard either can be painful.

So they want y’all to go to 3 appointments for a basic filling or sealant? I would be very annoyed too.

I just got back from the dentist and every office is different with what dentists vs hygienists do. I have never heard of a dental appointment without a dentist or a hygienist doing cleanings.

They should’ve just scheduled an appointment for a filling next week and not a consultation then a 3rd appointment to fill the cavity. Who has time for all those unnecessary appointments?

Dr Todd, who posted earlier, has an office less than a mile from my house.

He should’ve hooked me up with some implants

Dental Hygienists don't need Dentist supervision, if you kids got their cleanings what are you upset about? That a dentist couldn't hook and crook you into getting some shadows fixed on your kids teeth?

Part of the cleaning is getting the dentist to quickly look in the mouth and examine X-rays.
my twice a year cleanings include this. I would be pissed if the dentist wasn't there.

That’s why I said he should’ve hooked me up.

He’s got plenty of excess cash. I could serve as his security

True random Mikel Story.
1997, In Albuquerque. I got a BJ from a gal named "Randy" while it poured raining outside her apartment. She had a fancy 6 cd changer full of those mail-order "hot dance mix" CDs.
This song came on.

The coincidences were too funny to ignore.

Paging Dr.Todd, Paging Dr. Todd -

Mr.Clean needs a hook up with some dental implants

He could serve as security for unruly patients for when you’re out of the office

No one has ever cleaned my teeth but my dentist. Never heard of a hygienist even doing a cleaning.

Only dentists who are not very busy, or in demand from a large patient load, would do cleanings on a regular basis. Most haven't cleaned any teeth since dental school, whereas a hygienist has much more experience at this. They are trained for cleaning, among other tasks while a dentist is supposed to be diagnosing and solving much more complex problems than dirty gums. Change dentists.
