Gusts seriously picking up in abbeville. Seems gusts like 50ish maybe 60.

Yeah. You're probably getting what freshwater canal got about an hour ago when the instrument failed at 40 sustained gusting to 60.

What did it get to for Laura unofficially?

For Laura the peak surge came in at Rutherford beach, where the storm chasers are setup now. It was 17.2 feet there. Freshwater City area should be getting peak surge for this storm.

ditches are filling up because of all the debris here in lc area. Gonna be some flooding from this rain if it keeps up.

Hope this bitch keeps going east. Sorry Acadiana bros.

I appreciate it. I find it pretty interesting to see what people perceive vs official readings when it comes to wind. Acadiana Regional Airport should update any minute now with the last hour readings. Top gust from 2-3PM was 41 mph, so your guess was probably pretty damn close.

We getting tons of 35-40 mph gust with a few stronger than that.

Lost my damn tarp that was on one ridge. The ones I put on are doing well so far, not so much for the ones the contractor did, damn it

Hopefully I don't get water. None in the attic so far and it's on a steep arse ridge with felt and foam.

Link? The site I have stopped reporting winds after a 50mph gust or so.
