His beloved GRAF was pretty good for Laura.
At least as far as projecting wind gusts & rainfall.

That’s what he mentioned. Graf was spot on for Laura

That was just as much about how long the Baton Rouge area had gone without a storm than it was the strength of Gustav though.
well that and the ground saturation prior didnt help.
Not to mention Entergy's poor maintenance of their servitudes and lines.

Family in Lake Charles have blue roofs. The tarps can’t take much more. Need to see it push East some for comfort.
I actually went and picked up some more tarps and some or the plastic head nails just in case mine or families roof flies off.

So you were 2 during Betsy and 6 during Camille, and after riding out Betsy in Thibodaux y’all decided to stay for Camille in New Orleans?
No Betsy, I was a baby, scared my parents to death, they never stayed for another. We moved to NOLA and evacuated to BR for Camille. I was young but vividly remember the aftermath, especially riding through the emptiness of Biloxi. I moved to BR in 73 and was here for all the big ones since and never left.

only 7. You tard.
Everyone was really nice. Like I said, I don't mind admitting that shite was cool to me that they were use to people looking at them like local celebs and weren't dicks about it. I wonder if that went in a memo("On air people please be nice to dumbass guests of the employees at the Christmas party")

I've heard that it was like that for a lot of people who worked full time there. Fortunately, she was part-time and was still looking for a career after college during that time. She got out quickly.

The track probably shifts just a little east at 4 pm with the consensus model being a little east. Like 10-15 miles at most. Still west of Laffy.

Mikel, quit gaying up this thread. Nobody cares about your gay celebrity worshipping, you bisexual.

I see no mention oh Hilda 1964. Similar path. I was 14.
I posted this way back on page 44 of this thread...I wasn't alive yet but my parents knew most of the 22 people killed by the F4 tornado in Larose for Hilda.

According to my rain gauge & the wind readings from Acadiana Regional Airport, it was within 5mph and 1" of the projections.

Still don't know why he thinks it was uncommon for people to experience a hurricane..
It's louisiana.

No way I buy that. I have a friend that was a seal at that time and ran one of the teams at Stennis and he said it was mayhem... And this dude has been in mayhem before. I was in Metairie and had more than that I can tell you.
Stennis recorded a gust to 117 mph, but sustained winds there never measured above 70 mph. Now, considering the guys speed, it’s plausible the sustained winds in the area were a bit higher than 70mph, but Picayune is 20 miles to the WNW, so I highly doubt the winds were hurricane force there.
It’s unlikely Metairie saw sustained hurricane force winds too. Belle Chase NAS only got to 78 mph sustained.
And once again, I’m not belittling any of these experiences, I’m just pointing out how truly rare the experience is.

Dude I know. My sister still lived there for gustav. I was just trolling to pass the time.
In all honesty Gustav is one of the worst storms on record for damage to electrical infrastructure in Louisiana. I know at the time it was like second in that catagory. I know since, Laura for sure was worse, dunno of any other

My plant here in EBR just went into hurricane prep. Going to idle the units starting tomorrow, and ride out crew until Saturday.

I would never say I'm happy to be fired... but I was glad to be gone
let's just say nowadays I'm in a profession where my talents are better utilized and I'm much happier
plus now I'm making more than I was making there
