I know thats far, but we have a good bit of close friends in BHAM and would probably end up spending a long weekend with friends there.

But again, traveling that far with a newborn would be a task!

I see no mention oh Hilda 1964. Similar path. I was 14. Winds were about the same. No memory of surge however. It was a mess. No chain saws. Ax and a sore back. Never so happy school started again several weeks later. In New Iberia.

Christmas 2011... I had just been hired there... started less than 2 months prior

My gf and I had just started dating that Summer. She was just a part time worker(while at LSU) for Tune-In from ~2008-2012. That Christmas party was really neat, getting to meet the news people I always saw on TV. But I'm a dork like that. And it was Free Booze and good food at the BR Country Club! Woo!

How old? If they sleep through the night, driving at night while they sleep is not bad.

That was just as much about how long the Baton Rouge area had gone without a storm than it was the strength of Gustav though.

We traveled for the first time at 4 weeks. A 4 hour drive took 7.5 hours. Wouldn’t recommend.

Family in Lake Charles have blue roofs. The tarps can’t take much more. Need to see it push East some for comfort.

I am in the Baton Rouge area. Willing to take some bullets so that others are spared.
