Euro caves to the GFS. Landsfall in western Vermilion. About 40 miles east of prior runs

We should move everyone out of LA and then blowup the levees. Let mother nature do its thing for 20 years and assess rebuilding locations... This would be the New New Orleans

The East trend begins again.

October is a different animal compared to August and September.

Lake Charles with all the debris. Could be a mess even if it’s just tropical storm forced winds.

I wouldn't put it like that so much. Yesterday morning GFS had it going into MC while Euro was just west of LC.

More like they met in the middle (if anything GFS caved more to EURO).

I would say think more along the lines of Gustav, maybe even a little stronger depending on where it actually ends up

Wut?

Based on current track, Delta coming in between Lafayette and Lake Charles.

Gustav was basically direct hit to BR.

And you believe we should expect the same wind speeds?

Yes but according that, wind speeds are much lower than what Everyone is saying (?)

Yeah, they are lower than first estimated. Keep in mind, though, we haven't had a plane in Delta since before landfall on the Yucatan. The plane in it now is giving us the first concrete data since that time last night. Also, the weakening trend was expected after it made landfall.

Looking at similar maps, it appears this is t showing wind speed but rather the percent probability of tropical force winds. Hence the numbers being from 0-100.

Yes. I actually went to the NHC site and looked at the interactive map. And looked at the 10 am track and the 1 pm. If anything it looks the same. Sorry that I’m not seeing it.
