there's a HH plane that took off from Mississippi, traveled due west over south Louisiana, and is now in Texas and is marked as doing "low level recon" and is "in the storm"

so what is that plane actually doing?

sampling the trough?

TF is she talking about?

I caught the Jefferson Parish President's news conference on WWL yesterday during the noon hour and thought to myself how refreshing it was to hear her over LaToya.

any chance Delta slows down in the gulf and turns more eastward towards MS and AL?

I Live in Orange Beach AL and have had a bad feeling about this storm throwing everyone of and turning more eastward .maybe gun shy from Sally.

excuse the non-metrological terminology but I see two weak spots in the upper atmosphere.

You're seeing some upper level divergence. You're #2 is in the right entrance of a jet on the east coast. It's an area where you get rising air. That's not a weakness it can get to, as that ridge to it's west is going to be building and pushing it WNW.

The #1 is where it's going.

Strong, well-developed convection (storms) around the center of rotation. Generally, the stronger the storms the higher the cloud tops, and the higher the cloud tops, the colder they are.

Many, many times. I may or may not have engaged in some extracurricular activity on that road once as a young lad.

Forgive my ignorance. Are you saying that it's going to shift West and come in just West of the LA/TX state line?
