We will. Thanks bud. You and yours also.
All the bs aside, the outlook after the storm is great as Laura has created more work than we can do, the downside is everything else is on shite level 5

Finally some sense. 1 day for prep. 1 day for storm.

I don’t understand this statement. Windy.com shows the Euro model as default and has options for GFS and NAM. So the global models nailed Laura? Good to know
not to mention Windy did not nail the track. fake news

I still believe this storm will shift to the east of Lafayette on landfall. 4pm update will be huge today.

Any idea what EBR schools will do? Not what they should do, but what they will do?
With the projected gusts, even with the west track, I can’t imagine they will run buses Friday.

Probably just close Friday I would think

Pretty good bet EBR will close them Friday.

We got our upper ridge that's pushing Delta west apparent there as the dry air patch over Cuba. I'll link the loop so you all can see the clockwise flow around it and how it's pushing west.
On the west side you can see the beginnings of the upper trough that will set the western edge of the ridge for the north turn and eventually kick it out to the NE. You'll note the south to north flow on that side on the loop I link.
It's got a decent outflow channel setting up on the south side and with the approaching trough it should get a pretty good one form up on the north side by tomorrow. The core appears to be pretty together and in a more stable state than yesterday, which all points to a strengthening phase to come over the western Gulf.
Recon is getting going again for the afternoon, and with it about to or having popped back over the open water we can get a good look under the hood to see just how together the structure really is.
Still a south loaded system, but is starting to build in that north side some. Solid CDO around the center and what could be the first signs of an eye wanting to show it's self but I'm not 100% sure that's what we're seeing there yet with it just getting toward the open water.

If the current track holds, I’m leaving. I’d think about staying if I were alone but there’s nothing I can do for my house during a storm and I’ve got a family to try to protect. Not worth it for me to stay. I’ll do my prep and then roll out.
Posted on 10/7/20 at 11:18 am to Hamma1122
Oh yes, it is...but in the past when models line up that way it’s “usually” a good indicator of where the storm will make landfall. I’ve wishcasted enough and been disappointed when the models were right.

So the sooner the ridge sets, the more quickly it will begin to move north-northeast? Do you think the track will stay the same or that it will shift one way or the other?
