I would tend to agree with you but one thing that goes against this trend is number of storms we just had. A hurricane is natures way of expending excess energy and with all the H's and TS's we just had a lot of energy has been taken out of the waters. I heard some comparison that a Hurricane is equivalent to 10000 nuclear bombs or something to that effect.
