What I heard is that a pledge got cut and was upset about getting cut. So he went to IFC and told IFC about the rush parties Delta Chi threw FWIW

If that's the case its likely nothing unless they are complete idiots. Its well known you don't do anything remotely serious until after the pledges have passed all the phases of being cut. To prevent that very thing from happening.

Fraternities keep taking L's. It's sad to see. Knoxville Greek life is being slowly eroded. I was lucky to go through when I did becauseI feel like I got the full experience.

I don't want to live in a world where you can't yell terrible things at pledges and throw beer at them. And then make them go get you Wendy's.

They'll be reinstated after the University gets a call from Liam's Dad.

The Taxi was not very good when I was at LSU, but I understand they are pretty good now. Multiple fraternities have been kicked off campus, and several have benefitted. Potential Sigma Chis and Lambda Chis have to go somewhere, and it appears that has been Theta Xi, Sigma Nu and Tke.

I wouldn't mind what they are doing to greeks if they treated other student orgs and athletic teams the same way.... could you imagine the ramifications of a frat guy beating up his gf.....

I attended LSU in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and I was a GDI because I was too poor to be in a fraternity. But the main reason I did not join a fraternity is that I did not want friends that treated you like slaves in your freshman year.

The above philosophy was very common among us low life students living in South Stadium.

I never suffered because I did not belong to a fraternity.

TKE, yes. Theta Xi and Sigma Nu, not so much. TKE's seniors are the ones who were Sigma Chi pledges when they got the boot. They stuck together and performed a hostile takeover of TKE and kicked out the weird fricks who populated that chapter and made it Sigma Chi Jr.

Same here. Greek life is a bit of an afterthought at LSU, imo. Have friends who have gone to places like Ole Miss and Bama and those are schools where you're going to be miserable if you're not Greek. LSU doesn't have that feel.

Will be interesting to see if they can maintain momentum.

One thing about being an alum of a dead chapter is those fricks aren't hitting you up for money all the time.

they were top tier when I was there, got shut down shortly after, restarted, I think shut down at least once more since then guess it takes a while to rebuild

Theta Xi was smart - they had a controversial pledge death in 1980/1981 at the height of the Animal House atmosphere before hating fraternities was cool. Well played.

Fraternities are on a pendulum. My older brother's fraternity had an after hours mission at the TKE house one night in 86 or 87, with a paint roller on a long pole. They painted the top left side of the big "T" to match the house. They were "GKE" for the better part of the next day, as it took the 5 or 6 guys who lived in the house that long to notice (or to muster the resources to do something about it).
