I saw it too...I did find it odd they had a necropsy done and it was determined the dog died of a gun shot to the head. Seems like that would have been pretty easy to deduce

That why the case will get thrown out and the owner of the dog could face legal and civil penalties in most normal municipalities.

Being in law enforcement I have seen many judges throw crap like this out.
Some were lucky and got a long mean lecture about this.
Others were charged under city oridances.
If the dog got out once I could see the owners side of the story.
The owner was neglectful in his actions which caused this whole situation.

Goldendoodles are commonly known to be extremely vicious dogs who attack at the drop of a hat. I saw one last week sprint after a young child then opened its mouth with teeth showing and licked the child repeatedly. It was like watching a killer whale play with a baby seal.

It's not illegal to shoot a dog on your property(unless the law has changed) and you're not required to prove the dog was harassing or harming livestock. Was the cruelty charge just for leaving him in the ditch or did he shoot it outside his own property?

For starters, old boy who shot the dog deserves to have the ever loving frick beat out of him. Then some roofing nails in his driveway for the next several months.
