Blockchains will likely end up being the base layer of the internet (Web3).
quote:I agree with this too. But that means things will still be shared willy-nilly and nobody will care what's real or fake.
Once it get incorporated, it won’t be much different than how things are now.

Can’t believe it took this long for this Meme.

Who are the streamers Jon?
I can’t even tell you their names off the top of my head. I saw the story on another podcast I watch. I’m sure if you google “twitch deep fake drama” you will find it.

Is the level of outrage proportional to the situation?
Look, it seems like you agree that it's wrong and fricked up. It also seems that you recognize that you are unable to put yourself in the shoes of someone who this would happen to. Further, the fact that you are asking the question means you are unable to gauge how "outraged" one should be.
So are you just going to keep hammering on the question until someone agrees with you and says "Jon Ham would hardly be outraged at all and that is the perfect amount of outrage and any more outrage would be out of proportion"?

Those are similar but different questions. Why not just address the question I asked?

It seems you are a fan of just repeating what I’ve said.

I am going to continue participating in this thread I created. If you want to call that “hammering on the question” go ahead.
Are you ever going to actually address my question or just keep failing at scoring internet points against me?

Can I pay someone to do a deep fake of me and my wife having sex? Just for old time's sake.

I have addressed your question in the only way that makes sense, which is to try to extract from you what you're actually asking. Instead, you just act like any rephrasing of "is the level of outrage proportional" is a "mischaracterization" of your words.
You specifically asked for the consensus, and it looks like you're just upset that you don't agree with it.

Seems like part of his post/point was that the girls reacted as if they had been assaulted or had their privacy invaded (I guess similar to stealing actual pics/videos from their phones).

Maybe in your NPC-rotted brain.

LOL it wasn’t a hard to understand question. You’re the only one trying to “figure this out.” And you’re really not trying to do anything other than score points like an NPC libtard.

Still waiting on you to actually respond to the question. Falling back on the “u mad bro” retort is a bad look, my dude, especially when it doesn’t even make sense for the situation.

if someone took my likeness and put it in a sexualized video without my consent, I'd be pretty upset about it.
I'd also think this behavior is super creepy.
I think my take on this seems to also be the consensus.

I can't imagine how bad of a problem this is going to be in the very near future.
I’d like to think we could make the penalties harsh enough to prevent it, but I assume it would be hard to catch the people responsible.
I member when people on this board thought that the world was getting better and that we didn’t need all those silly old-fashioned morals anymore. Welcome to utopia, where no one believes in anything other than financial gain and you can’t even believe your own eyes.

My libertarian ideals really are being tested pretty harshly by AI and deepfake technology. I think I'm going to eventually have to capitulate and say we need government to step in and help curtail some of the behavior like what's being talked about in the OP.

Still waiting on you to actually respond to the question.
You are asking about "outrage", an emotion, but you are framing it as objective rather than subjective. Your question ignores literally every single detail about the situation which is required for anyone to gauge how outraged one should be. That's why there are so many responses asking you to put your wife/daughter in the situation. That's why you yourself even admitted that it's different for a nobody like you vs. someone in the public eye. These details matter.
So do you want your question answered from the perspective of randos on the OT, or from the perspective of someone who this might happen to? It doesn't seem that you understand the difference. I'm convinced that all you want is for people to agree with you.
In case your question is legit, I'll answer both ways. For someone like you, you should probably be flattered. For someone with a public image, they should probably be pissed off. And both reactions are proportional to the situation.
And it looks like the consensus that you asked for is that most people would be pissed off, and you still don't like it. So go ahead and act like your question still isn't answered.
