Baton Rouge had measurable snowfall on both 12 Feb 2010 and 4 December 2009.

It was quite the snowy era. Three events in two winters.

And what about The Sugar Bowl snow of 2001? Who could forget that.
We got at least 2” in Central.

So are we expecting everything to be shut down basically through Thursday across all of I10? It seems like driving anywhere will be insane until afternoon Thursday.

I feel like people forget that snow is frozen rain

How accurate are rainfalls to the inch for a big storm? It’s all just a best guess scenario for all these models just like anything else

I would think at the earliest - if it does down there what it does up here and imagine we are a tad bit better at trying to mitigate it's impact [north Texas]

Most models and forecast use a 10:1 ratio. For every 10 inches of snow, there is 1 inch of water...

It can vary in actuality, but that's a general rule.

No clue. It’s never on any of these lists. It was definitely snowing across the street from OLOL.

Makes sense, I guess I’m the idiot

Either way, the point I was trying to make was that I keep seeing people questioning how they don’t know exactly how much is going to fall when nobody knows

This is true. Nobody knows exactly how many inches will fall where.

Just like when it rains nobody can tell you exactly how much rain will fall at any given location.

Any chance you could include Georgia in these snippits and not just Louisiana?

I just left Harbor Freight and they were 90% out of tarps. Everyone’s trying to protect their citrus and garden.
