My tiny arse barely traveled road is almost melted so I assume more well-traveled roads are becoming fine right now and should stay that way until tonight.

Yeah roads are really clearing up around BR and should be totally fine by tomorrow. I know i'll likely get downvotes on this because people do not want to go back to work but it is true.

Hoping this is the case. Updates on road conditions from anyone driving in the BR area would be appreciated!

first ice casualty this morning at my house.

One of my septic sprinklers developed a crack after trying to start this morning after my wife took a shower ha. I've got a replacement, put will wait to get that done until tomorrow once most stuff is melted for good.

SIAP. The Mobile, AL Civic Center's roof collapsed due to the increased weight from the snow:

Y’all really think the roads will be good for tomorrow morning? It’s supposed to be below freezing around 6pm today until 9am tomorrow. That’s a lot of snowmelt that’s gonna refreeze tonight, no?

I say lunch tomorrow we should be in the clear in BR

I’m out working now, and the heavily traveled surface streets are pretty good. Kinda looks like a hard rain came though…. Still wet, and slick in spots though.

Check your attic if you haven’t yet - especially if you have gable end vents and/or ridge vents.

I collected almost 2 5-gallon buckets of ice. Most of it from the gable end vent. My other gable end vent did not have any accumulation in attic. It all depends on the orientation to the wind direction. I was fortunate that the large amount had not yet melted and was over the garage.

Big thanks to the poster who mentioned this yesterday. I had no idea about this issue until I read it here.

Getting some melting in Metry, but not a ton. Over the past few days, Weatherbug was showing a stretch from around 12-5PM as being above freezing. Now they're showing it being above freezing between 3-4. Major roads may be different, but my side street still has a ton of snow/ice, and it's feeling like things won't clear up until Thursday night.

Just went outside to knock down any problem areas that might cause an ice damn. We are at 35 now and full sun. It is doing a number on the snow. Melting like crazy already anywhere that isn’t shaded. I’m kind of glad I only got 6” instead of the 8 and 12. My roof should be completely clear by lunch tomorrow.
