You got the snow tires on the camera?

Are power outages expected or not really since it’s not an ice event?
There could be some, but shouldn't be anything like a significant ice event.

Enjoy tomorrow in real time my Louisiana and Texas friends. Rare events like these are damn cool. My GA hood is going to miss out on the snow this go ‘round but it was awesome seeing it happen a few weeks ago.
Be safe when it freezes over. Gonna be there for a minute.
Again, enjoy the fun part.

Good deal! Don't forget to tie bread bags around your feet like the old folks did.

I assume the stuff on radar in north Louisiana and around I20 isn’t reaching the ground?
The temp in Shreveport is 34 with a dew point of 1 for a 25% relative humidity. It is dry as a bone and evaporating.

Jeff P. is already reporting 47.5" on the ground with 8" an hour rates.

TDsgumbo sent this to me. He's out in Holly Beach trying to fish.

I got snow tires and most people have snow rated tires and awd.
So do I. And travel exclusively to snow in the winter.
But after tomorrow night when it all turns to ice... It'll be a little different.

What is relation to dew point and snow?

Any chance that changes?

CuseTiger and myself going to be there Monday.
Hard to beat 9 ski mountains with 1.5 hrs.

My 3 year old lab is about to be introduced to snow tomorrow. I’m super excited. Can’t wait to see his reaction.

Oh straight ice is a different animal but those all-seasons everyone rightly has wont have a chance.
Hell I slid a little today, with my basically ideal winter driving rig.

Still trying to figure that part out. Making a return trip during Mardi Gras

Great place to vacation if you want to decide where to ski each morning and/or you don’t want to pay a fortune to sleep while on a ski trip.

A lot, especially when youre right on the edge of snow/sleet/rain.
The dew point being a little under the temp can actually get you snow even if its slightly above freezing at the surface, bc the evaporation cools the snow off as it falls and stays snow.
Now, what Boat notes, Shreveport is deeper in the arctic airmass, and its too dry. 25% relative humidity, and all the snow evaporates as it falls.
