I go to the bar and get hammered at lunch.

Come back and shut my office door so my boss doesn't see me yack in the trash can.

I'll occasionally rub one out if I'm feeling frisky.

I try remembering that in 50 years no one will remember or care about a single thing that happened at work. in 100 years it will be as if you never existed.

Why would an attorney ever have stress?

That’s the type of “boss” I tried to be. It can eat you up some inside though and I tried not to let anyone know it. I was pretty laid back and I’m naturally a pretty nonchalant person so that helped

On Wednesday nights (my internal reminder that the week is more than halfway done), I have what I refer to as my bourbon and book night. I go to the mancave, grab my book and a healthy pour, and just relax. The wife doesn't bother me. It gives me something to look forward to Monday-Wednesday.

Best advice I ever received:

There is actually a published strategy for this: First thing every day, eat a live frog. Then nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day.

Huge realization for me in the last several months. Clients call with a huge panic but come to find out everyone will work with you so long as you communicate with them. I feel like I've pivoted from problem solver to therapist for some of my client base.

Real talk, start taking methylated vitamins (folate, b12, vitamin d) . Has to be methylated. Worked wonders for me.

Honestly doesn’t sound like you’re too stressed. If you have the energy and desire to schedule a bunch of events then you aren’t killing it with the hours. I look forward to sitting on my couch.

I get in fist fights in front of my church.

I exercise. I want to be able to completely shut my brain off and do something mindless. Punching a heavy bag, deadlifting, etc. It's rare that I'm so stressed from work that I'm not over it by the time my commute home is done, though. I haven't really had any stressful financial responsibilities outside of work so I've never been super worried about what happens at work. My wife is prego with our first and now I'm starting to feel pressure already.

Therapy. I'll give you a free preview.

Accept that even if what you think the "worst thing that could happen" happens (you screw up and get fired), you could always do something else to make money. People overestimate how much what they do for work actually means to their family and true friends.

Your family/friends would rather you be happy and make their interactions with you more pleasant.

Everyday, figure out the one thing you are pushing off or don’t want to deal with and get it done first. Then the rest of the day is smooth sailing.

That will knock a big chunk of the stress you are placing on yourself out of the way every day/week.

Yup, Ronnie Coleman is one of the greatest philosophers of our day. Ain't nothing to it but to do it.
