What is the best way to do it? I try exercise and sleep. Receiving an end of the day BJ from the wife is always nice. I try to schedule a lot of events to look forward to throughout the week to make it feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. What do you do?

A lil THC is a perfect stress coping mechanism.

I have a great "job". I hate to call it that because I have crafted an amazing job and I feel I dont work a day in my life. Thats the key. Work at something you love doing and do what you love.

If you can still sleep solidly then your job is not too stressful. If it interferes with sleep, get some sleep meds. Solid sleep will certainly help with stress. Get the sleep, make subtle changes to your work routines, and look for what else is contributing. Half the time it’s the other stuff that adds to work stress.

Take a step back and realize that your place of business wouldn't skip a beat if you vanished off the face of the earth. It's not a life or death situation, so if you're not happy find something else. Life is too short to be worried about your job.

As a lab director, I handled stress pretty well. Had it coming from 50 out of 52 employees being female and very intelligent, the pathologists who thought they knew how to run a lab, doctors, who think they are God, and administration, who always thought I could do it with less employees despite the fact my lab was 5th in efficiency among 305 hospitals.

Later, when I finally managed to get back and work on the bench I had a much more stressful job. I quickly realized most all my stress was coming from one idiotic co-worker. She would sabotage my workstation when I left for lunch by putting 3 tubes of unfinished work in the finished rack. I would end up spending a lot of time trying to figure out where the "lost" specimens were. It didn't take me long, a couple of days, to figure it out, but I never told her. I spent the next year making her life miserable and she eventually quit. BUT, to get to the issue, I realized I had to not allow anyone that was a peer to ruin my day. Even when I was working sick and she would ask how I felt, i would say, "I'm doing GREAT!, and smile". Made her red faced angry. Stayed in a great mood working there for 5 years because I forced myself to be in a good mood. And I was.
