The first time i went there was on my first trip to DC. Woke up for an early morning jog with the intent of stopping by there. had the entire temple to myself.
Ive seen a lot of amazing things in my life but the Lincoln Monument is truly one of the most amazing. What these idiots are doing will have some seriously unintended consequences if they keep it up.

You can bet the police will be out in full-force if a group of concerned citizens showed up with guns to protect this monument, and the concerned citizens would be seen as the bad guys.

I’ve said multiple times that you can’t whitewash parts of history without erasing other parts. If you want to erase any vestige of civil war era memorials, you end up destroying the foundations of the civil rights movement. History is like a book, and when you start tearing out chapters and pages, the story no longer makes sense. You can’t tell the story of the civil rights movement without telling the story of the civil war, reconstruction and the Jim Crow era.
