Good on them, I'm embarrassed to say I didn't talk with FIL before proposing. Not out of lack of respect, or fear, I just had no idea that was a thing. My proposal was also very random but we still together 25 years later.

As a father of two daughters I dread this! Hopefully I don’t have to worry about this for at least 20 years. Just hope that I am still alive to walk them down the aisle.
