After I had a decent amount of work experience I got recruited by a number of out of state companies. A few Fortune 500. I don't think it really hurt me that my degree is from LSU vs insert any other non Ivy League or extremely prestigious university. I'm not talking about Princeton here keep in mind.
GA Tech is just below this rank. It's absolutely possible to get to the same place attending LSU, but being at a way higher rated school in a major metro is a decided advantage.

GA Tech gets you auto interview with AMD/Intel.
So does UTex

I bet Middleton Library impressed her the most.
At least she won’t be making babies in Kirby Smith.

They would have been recruiting you without the experience from a better college is the difference

she is a Georgia Tech lean though. Still time to flip her

Why on earth would you do that?
If she plans on majoring in engineering, I hope she doesn't listen to your advice. GTech is a far better engineering school than LSU.

That kid from Baton Rouge went to Georgia Tech and turned into a transgender.

Hope you vaccinated her for HPV when she was younger.

I toured Tech with my oldest recently. It’s pretty damn impressive academically.
She’ll marry a nerd that will make six figures and invest it correctly. Engineering is the No. 1 field that makes millionaires.
On another note, LSU needs to bring back the out of state tuition waiver for its alumni. My youngest is eaten up with purple and gold. Out of state is going to make it damn near impossible to consider.

Seems like UGA would also be another great in state option.

Honest question, is GT private or public? If the Hope Scholarship is in play then it would be hard to turn down Tech to go to Baton Rouge.

Like that is even possible.

The OOS tuition numbers are not written in stone. If your kid has the test scores and the grades, they will start bringing the price down. That’s what happened with our daughter. In the end, they were saying she could enroll at what was basically in-state tuition.

Yeah, that’s the problem.
My oldest is looking at schools like GT and Vanderbilt. My youngest might be able to get into LSU.

Ultimately, it matters what you graduated in.
