Liberalism is a mental disorder. Pity her if you must but for your own sake, move on.

Careful, that's the kind of woman who will decide 2 years from now you didn't have consent. Give her one good chat session of why you believe what you do, and if she doesn't see the light, peace out.

It simply cannot work these days.

I moved to Philadelphia, met a girl, we dated for almost 2 years. Anytime we argued, she'd bring up some random thing I said or did from months before about feminism shite. Example: Before we dated, we had a group of friends at a bar. I comment how a model at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show was a "dime piece" to another single buddy...she brought that up 15 months later to say I was sexist and don't respect women (mind you these women were literally walking around in lingerie)

When I told her I voted for Trump (she did not vote), she did not speak to me for a week. Still, throughout the relationship, she would just get weird for a few days. I'd ask what's wrong and eventually, literally after 3-4 days of her barely speaking to me, she'd say "I just struggle with the fact you voted for Trump. He's a horrible person and you support that."

They are incapable of separating life and politics. She would tell me she was envious that I was able to have rational discussions and not get extremely angry...she simply could not. Trump is in these people's heads and they don't know how to deal.

No, that is egalitarianism. If she's a third or 4th wave feminist, then she is insane. They think it's problematic and self hatred if a woman wants to be mother and a housewife above anything else. 1st wave, sure everyone should be one of those, but once you start proposing that marriage was system to keep women in line rather than to effectively raise children, then you've crossed the line. Here's the definition of the insanity of 4th wave feminism:

quote:

the fourth wave continues the push against problematic gendered norms that cause the oppression and marginalization of women in society, the intersectionality[3] of these and other interlocking systems of power, and how these contribute to the stratification of traditionally marginalized groups like women of colour and trans women. Fourth-wave feminists advocate (like earlier feminists) for greater representation of these groups in politics and business, and argue that society would be more equitable if policies and practices incorporated the perspectives of all people.

Honestly it just depends.

I have coworkers that have significant others that are on the other side. They just said it’s an unspoken topic.

I personally couldn’t. My wife and I are both very conservative and y’all a lot about politics and current societal issues. If we didn’t agree on them I don’t know how it would work.

This is the biggest thing. If sometime takes politicians that seriously then they will never be happy in life, in my opinion. It’s too all-consuming and you never escape

I definitely couldn't imagine trying to raise a child with someone that had the opposite values as me.

I can't really imagine a far left progressive ever liking me to begin with though.

Doesn’t work even if you really love them. The reasons you both hold your political beliefs go deeper than who you vote for or what stance you have on hot button topics.

I think you’d find that your most important values don’t align. That’s toast

Some of these Leftists think that red states are controlled by Mongolian Hoardes where women are raped in the streets for their babies and people are lynched regularly.

Yup. They've gone well beyond wanting women to have equal rights. They think happy housewives are Uncle Toms to their cause.

It’s sad - and because of their influence at colleges and in the national culture, they’ve shaped the views of generations of women now.

And they’re making those women miserable.

Satisfaction has dropped year after year, over the last fifty or sixty years. Work doesn’t make men happy, and it sure as hell doesn’t make women happy either.

Worse they’re being told to delay or even skip, motherhood. In defiance of their nature, this is the cruelest part of it all.

It’s possible to fall on the same side of societal beliefs but still disagree politically.

My sister defines feminism as strengthening women, not as equal rights. We have debated on it, but she's fine with more women than men graduating college right now, and still is fighting for more women in STEM degrees. Ain't nothing equal about that.
