This is one of those where you hope he had a medical event that caused it and wasn't playing with his phone or something else stupid. Terrible.

It's a good video to show to some young drivers in your life who dont take driving seriously. It can happen instantly and it can be very bad.

didnt see anyone in them, which is strange with that many people
it was the first thing I checked for. I wouldn't have posted the pics had there been obvious bodies shown.

I couldn't watch that video. My college roommate was being picked up at the Houston airport by his wife and three little children. Drunk truck driver hits the car, trapping my roommate and his kids in the wreck (his wife was unhurt). She watches (as do firefighters and police at the scene) helplessly while her husband and three kids are consumed by the fire - one by one.

Did I miss it or what caused the truck to veer off?

Article says the family believes the truck driver had a medical emergency. Really makes you think how vulnerable we are on the road. Such a terrible and scary incident

Sad that major highway had such a minimal barrier between the lanes. Should be required that sturdier barriers be installed along all US interstates.

Further, I hate to see this happen at all, much less to of all things a church group. Certainly tests your faith.

Here in CO they have been replacing the solid ones like in the video with cable barriers. They're supposed to work better but it's hard to see how they would. In any case, I'm not sure they'd stop that guy.

They’re probably cheaper to replace. Which is all they care about. I don’t see how those cable barriers would stop that 18 wheeler. A concrete wall certainly would.

Cable barriers are cheaper to put in but cost more in repairs/maintenance.

Not sure there’s much to stop 80k lbs moving at 70-80mph though.

Those cable barriers are pretty strong.
I've seen a truck all wrapped up in one

Then frick them too. That's not right IMO. Very disrespectful to the families. All for tweets and likes

Of course wbrz is pimping it on news. Gotta find a way to increase revenue with ads to help pay for the talentless reporting they have outside of Nak.

I’m reasonable certain I’d off myself if I was in her situation

Did the truck driver survive?

I-75 in Florida has strict rules about trucks staying in the right lane and passing in the middle only. If the fricker was speeding in the left lane, he needs to rot in jail...

ETA... I see the trucker was killed as well... Hope he’s burning in hell...
