You first say that his statement is "not likely" and then explicitly agree that the cop will "probably" continue to violate rights. Sorry if you don't see it, but you've contradicted yourself.

Are there people in this thread defending the cop? I don't think I've seen any.

No, I was saying that the cop in this particular instance would have found another reason to drag this kid out the car and taze him, and I base that thought on the previous history the cop and kid involved in this situation have.

I view it as the same way a parent defends their kid. Yeh, they are saying they condemn the cop, but they always follow it with a qualifying statement about the kid

"Sure, the cop is wrong, BUT the kid could have handled it better."

"Sure, little Johnny shouldnt shite on his desk, BUT couldnt you have watched him better Mrs. Teacher."

There is no need for any BUT statement

Well, it's the truth. What's wrong with presenting the truth?

Sure there is. It takes a lot of things happening to get to the point where a situation like this happens.

I hope someone shoots this cop right in the dick with a taser and then his dick explodes clean off.

When one person follows the law and does nothing wrong, while the other person breaks the law and beats the shite out of them, there is zero reason for a BUT.

It's not the truth, it's totally irrelevant speculation to say this would have been avoided if the kid had rolled his window down all the way.

I disagree. But that would take us into a much larger discussion of what made cops like this cop exist, and I really don't feel like going down that rabbit hole at the moment

exactly as I expected.

A kid who breaks the law.
A parent who understands they broke the law.
A weak arse parent who decides to focus the attention on the "civil liberties" that were violated.

Dumb parent.
Dumb child.

Meet complete jerk power hungry cop.

ALL of them got exactly what they deserve.

A citizen deserved to be stopped under false pretenses, unnecessarily tased into cardiac arrest, and then dropped on his unresponsive face by a pissed off cop? What the frick is wrong with some of you?

I've always viewed tasers as a double edged sword because it has become quite apparent that many police are quick to use them in nonthreatening scenarios on account that they are "nonlethal." It looks like this cop got pissed that the kid didn't roll his window all the way down and immediately then decided that he was using force to extract him from the vehicle to show him who is boss. He doesn't have the temperament, judgment, character, or integrity to be entrusted with the power and responsibility of our police. frick that guy. It's douchebags like that that make everybody overly critical and cop bash when the legitimate situations that do necessitate force come up.

Basically the officer abused his power and killed that kid. When you put on the uniform you protect and serve the community you represent.

The guy that put this uniform is a killer and should serve life in prison. He thought he was above the law and a kid lost his life over this!

Yes, this scum who wore a uniform representing the community could have handled the situation a lot better.

o you think it is likely that the kid still ends up tazed if he gets out of the car and has a conversation with the cop.

Yes...because I read the article. This wasn't some simple run in...the department knew the kid, his "troublesome" LEO Dad, etc.

Kid isn't dead, but the officer should serve a substantial amount of time in prison.

Sorry skimmed over the article.
That scumbag has no respect for life or the community he represents.

I'm not going to read this thread. I know there are several people knighting for the cop.

The cop went to jail. He is a fricking pos. And sadly there are hundreds of cops like him.

Off-topic, but the victim and the police officer are the perfect embodiment of Missourians.
