Will never happen, particularly with the culture of respect for LEOs in which people have been conditioned.

Gosh, these kids now days are stupid. If an officer told me to get out of the car back in the day, my arse was getting out. The kid deserved everything he got.

This, for all the viewers at home, is what happens when you successfully intimidate a population into being afraid to stick up for your rights.

This kid did, and he paid the price.

Meh, you aren't winning the battle on the scene with a hot head cop hell bent on imposing his will. This seems like a perfect example of that.

The cop over-reacted and went too far,

and the cop dropped an incapacitated teen on his face.

"over-reacted" is a fricking understatement

I think people only say it sarcastically now.

Cop should be in federal prison for attempted murder. Sad there are people serving longer sentences in a fed pen for weed than this POS will serve

Not sucking off a cop quickly enough is hardly a reason to get put into cardiac arrest, then dropped on his face.

My favorite part of the story is the fictional outstanding warrant that didn't exist, then the outstanding smell of weed that magically appeared after the kid was knocked out and when they needed to create probable cause after the kid was incapacitated.

Based on all of that, can you point to any legal authority the police had to detain/arrest this kid? If they didn't have any legal authority, do you blame the kid for not being cooperative?

The Judicial system for people, doesn't end at the city limits of their town.

If this were actually happening,The LEO Dad should have used all judicial avenues to remedy the situation.

Resisting at a traffic stop,is never going to accomplish anything good.Only a stupid hot head,or a spoiled child would try it. Old saying is: "Discretion is the better part of valor." In other words," Fight your battles where you are likely to win".

When things like this happen, the only people that win,are the media. They hope it happens more.

He didn't roll his window all the way down. Should have complied with the cop and got out of his car.

Officer douche bag also continued to hit the trigger on the taser well after the kid was limp and on the ground

I never said it was.

No, but that's not the point. I'm not defending this cop's actions at all.

If I knew a hot head cop was going out of his way to try to find something to frick with me over, I would not be trying to give a lesson on the Constitution when he pulls me over.

I don't blame the kid for doing what he did, but I don't think it was the smart play. I feel like the outcome of this story backs me up.

Then he expected the driver to put his hands behind his back when he was unconscious, or close to it.

When you say BUT, and then make a statement on what the kid could or should have done, you are shifting blame. I know you dont see it that way, but you are. It is no different than:

"Yeh, the rapist is wrong, BUT if she didnt have on tight pants maybe he doesnt get horny."

That is shifting blame and responsibility

That sounds great in theory, but in practice it's very costly in time and money to dispute things in court. Our legal industry isn't designed to help citizens resolve issues, especially against cops. It's designed to generate revenue.

No i'm not. If you read my whole post, which I'm guessing you did anyway, you'd figure that out.

It's sad that this is a true statement.

They can impose their will, whatever it may be, on scene and we have empowered them to do so. That is why I think that penalties need to be much more sever when they so blatantly abuse the power that has been granted to them and disregard civil rights.

The tragic part of this is that it takes the actions of kids like this to put dirty cops behind bars. If he hadnt done that, the cop would still be be on the street.

For him to follow your advice would be to throw his rights away. I don't see how that benefits anyone but the cop that would be on the street except for this kids actions.
