It means they had a good product and sold out and made bank from Apple. Good for them.

It’s been great notifier for rain starting/stopping. I was curious what they expect ipad users to do now for this feature as the first party weather app has never been available. But i see it will be released for iPad users in iOS 16.

Damn. I use Dark Sky every day.

Not seeing on Apple app that they have the hourly percent chance of precipitation and hourly prediction of amount of precipitation. Those are helpful when there is,say, a 40% chance of rain on Thursday. You could look and see that perhaps the only real chance was at 3 am or that it was .01” so who cares. Radar map doesn’t look nearly as good either.

WeatherBug is owned by TWC and is just as social media driven as the TWC app is.

I use MyRadar. I paid for some of the features like hurricane tracking, but it’s just a radar app. No nonsense.

Did you upgrade to iOS16 yet? The app is updated with the OS. It now has projected hourly precipitation, though it is displayed a little different than in Dark Sky.

Do other areas really not have the local channel weather apps that do this? The ones in my area have proven accurate enough if that's all you want out of a weather app, plus you have the added benefit of supporting the people who actually know your area and give a shite about it.

I’ve been happy with the Storm app. It too tells you when the rain will start as well as lightning strikes in your area. Pretty good predictive radar simulation too.

Click on the top hourly -> click on the drop down top right of graph and click precipitation

Everything seems to be there except historical data which I thought was amazing
