I just sat through the new Avengers movie. I wanted to go to the baseball game instead, but figured I owed one to the gf.
These movies are way too long for me. Then they roll credits, nobody leaves, and there’s another 10-15 minute clip of things.

It’s not my cup of tea. I guess it was a good production, but I’m not entertained by it.

If your kid is really good, she gets asked to join the competition team, which is like travel ball but with the added expense of costumes, hair, makeup, etc.
Plus she doesn’t get to be in ONE of the 7 recitals the company has in 2 days. She gets to be in ALL OF THEM...

My daughters dance and ballet recitals are at the Mahalia Jackson Theater and they sell alcohol so I don’t mind going. Plus the scenery isn’t bad at all. It’s not your typical crazy white trash dance moms. These are some classy ladies

Y’all suck. When my daughter is performing I very much enjoy seeing her on stage.
Hey I love seeing MY daughter perform. I like watching the other little girls parade around because they're cute.
I hate the way they drag that shite out for 3-4 hours.

I think we all do. It's the other 200 acts without the kids.
Especially the weird color guard stuff.
My girls are in a big school that has recital in the convention Center downtown.
Then two days...
I bring an ebook to read.

When they are 4, it’s just awesome watching them literally stand there scared to death (thinking I paid how much for this shite?)
When they are 14, and pretty damn good, you spend 3 hours waiting for her to show all those other parents how it’s done. It’s pure misery watching someone else’s little 4 year old stand there while having to listen to my little teapot or some shite.
Find some game to play in your head like: how many times the curtain doesn’t raise or lower because that person is friends with the owner’s husband and is shithoused, or how many of those little ones fall and bust their arse, or the heavy one taking down the scenery, or how many of their Moms you banged in high school, etc. just try to find some place in your mind to escape to until it’s your kid’s turn.

Went to one for my little sister once back when... her dance is like 15 minutes so I thought sure. Didn't say shite about the 30 other dance schools, the hours of these dance girls going up and down my aisle to get random pieces of their costume, and then Jesus the trophies after!!! That shot went on forever! And the award for 2nd most spirited dancer in a jazz routine in the 7-8 age range goes to....

When my stepdaughter was about 11, she wanted to take ballet classes. Of course her mom encouraged it and many times I had to take her to the studio for her 1 1/2 hour lesson a couple times a week. Fortunately, there was a coffee shop just half a block away and I'd head there to wait it out.
She wound up doing it for 3 years and had 3 dance performances during that time and I only managed to make it to 1 of them and it was a miserable time for me. All 3 times it was "The Nutcracker" and I found the name appropriate for the males in the audience who really didn't want to be there.
As much as she tried, she was not graceful like some of the girls and I told her mom if she started her own production company, it could aptly be named "Thunderfoot Productions" the way she landed with a resounding THUD on her jumps.

You're complaining about a movie being too long but you wanted to go to a baseball game?
