I sneak a flask to them. Makes it much more bearable for me.

The wife does all the cloth changes with the daughter. I just sit in the audience and sip my cocktail

Baseball is entertaining.

A couple of my friends got into about putting their daughter in dance classes the other day. Dad said daughter is already in gymnastics, karate and plays soccer and that he didn’t think she needed to do dance. And that he didn’t want to sit through dance recitals.

Mom said she didn’t want to sit through soccer and karate stuff. Dad called out mom and said he knows for a FACT that she loves that shite. Mom conceded he was right and that she was probably in enough activities and that if daughter didn’t make a big deal out of dance, that she would just drop it.

My buddy and I went outside to drink a beer after all that and he was pretty proud of his victory. At least until I reminded him about other daughter who is yet too young to participate in any of those activities and how there was NO WAY wife was going to go so quietly the next time

All of my sidter’s recitals were in Orlando it seemed like.

My dad and I would just go to Disney world or universal studios while my mom watched.

Had to b endure that shite for 15 years. So glad it is over. A lot ofone spent, not to mention travel on out of town competitions. Reinforced female vanity.

Recitals are garbage. You guys need to find your daughters a studio that puts on productions instead. My sister's studio puts on a production that follows a storyline like it's on Broadway. It's much more enjoyable and it takes only about 2 hours, tops.

If you feel the need to slow time down to a crawl then attend a recital. I still remember the pain of those nights and that was nearly 40 years ago

I can walk around during a baseball game. I can hold a conversation, send a text, etc.

In a movie, I’m sitting down watching a screen. I like baseball, I don’t care much for the Avengers.

Sounds like no one here has watched the Jeffie Jean Big Girls dance. Worth waiting for.

Also buy the program, find which number your kid is in and sit outside and cocktail before and after that number.

That’s who we use. Last night was the 40th Anniversary my daughter got a headache and had to skip the finale.

A couple years ago Debbie used my daughter’s picture (w/o authorization) in a local magazine advertisement.
She gave some large frameable copies that were nice, but requesting permission would’ve been the proper thing to do.

Her husband held someone (that broke into their home) at gunpoint until the cops arrived. That’s really cool.

As a father of a 2 year old daughter that is dreading this in the future, someone explain to me what keeps everyone in the seats all night instead of watching their daughter dance, going back stage and getting them and bolting as soon their part of the recital is over.

Well they put each kid in about 3 or 4 numbers, but they purposely spread those numbers out so that everyone has to pretty much stay for the whole thing, and of course all the dancers are in the finale , yeah they do it on purpose to keep everybody miserable as long as the can

Not sure about all of these competitions and such. My daughter does classic ballet and has two recitals and then nutcracker each year. No out of town, not sure what that is even about.

She’s been doing ballet for 10 years and proud of her work.

That said she is not going to college for dance on my dime. Lol
