I could post a photo of what two German Shepherds did to my brother in law's pitbull, but I would like to keep posting privilege a viable option.

At least give us the German Shepards address so we can all send them gift baskets from Chewy.com.

Remember:

Use a garden hose and spray water on fighting dogs.
Ends their fighting right away.

If GSD’s aren’t raised properly, they can a lot of damage. I have a sweet family dog type that was attacked by one too. Completely unprovoked.

Who doesn't own enough land to let their dogs roam?

Pits are more predisposed to violently attacking animals and people, but GSD’s can be too. Especially males. There’s a reason they are used by military and police

hate seeing that. when i was walking an ex GFs poodle one time this 8-9 yr old boy was walking a mastiff on the other side of the street. when it took off after my dog the kid plopped down on the ground in the prone position to try and hold the dog, but it just drug him like a sled all the way across the street. Kid had heart though and held on for a ride. i picked up GFs dog and said "see ya" and took off running. poor kid was probly covered in road rash but im just glad he never let go cause i was stoned out of my mind and not looking for any confrontation.

I was making a joke.

And you’re correct. The pitbull type is also used in the military and within police departments. They are also used as service dogs, just like GSD’s.

German Shepherds are bad dogs to own if you don’t train them. They become aggressive assholes way too easily.

Yep but if raised right they are extremely loyal and smart dogs. My family has had several and they were great around us and our friends growing up. Very protective

Maybe not out Basset got attacked and the only thing that changed was for a couple of months she would let our other dogs get out into the yard at night before she would go down the steps. Now she is just the way she was loving to all things 2 or 4 legged, well except rabbits, she will bark her head off (it is the only time she barks) and chase rabbits.

The attack was really bizarre. I let me three dogs out in the back yard to pee before bed one night. I don't turn the lights on when I do. They were all three in the yard and my Basset always goes to a back corner to pee. I was standing on the porch looking out waiting for them to finish and I saw something jump our 3.5' fence on the run, I assumed it was a deer and called my two Ridgebacks because I know they will ride a deer down without a thought. As they started up the steps my Basset let out a yelp and my other dogs turned and sprinted to the back corner and all hell broke loose. I ran and grabbed my Basset and carried her back in the house. I felt bad I didn't call my other dogs off but I had no idea what was going on. I went back out turning on the lights and calling my dogs off and when I got them inside I went back out to find a neighbor's Great Dane. It had to be put to sleep. It was the oddest thing since they had all played together numerous times and it never showed any pet aggression. The Dane just snapped that night. I still feel horrible about what I let my dogs do, especially since the dog was our neighbor's little girl's best friend and she has several disabilities. I felt bad enough that I wouldn't let my neighbors pay any of my dog's vet bills.

I grew up with GSD’s and understand this sentiment. Look up reports on dog bites by breed and they’re always near the top. They’re amazing animals when trained properly, arguably one of the smartest breeds out there but they can channel their intellect in other ways if placed with the wrong owners. They’re loyal to a fault to say the least as well. For the record, I have never bitten by any of the 4 my parents have had.

Your family dog should’ve checked them teeth.
