Saw this at a Tulane night class and continuing education graduation ceremony. This is where Tulane hands out degrees away from the regular students. Half minorities and alot of balloons, kids, shorts and t-shirts and whooping and hollering and calling out the name right after the person on stage called out their name. LAQUISHA, WHOOOOO.

Graduations are the worst. Especially at a major university. I'd rather go to a funeral. I didn't go to my undergrad. Grad school graduation wasn't that bad, but way less people and most were in their late 20's or early 30's so they didn't feel the need to act out.
On another note, the guy shoving them off looks like Dean Pritchard.
Hopefully the whole ordeal will evolve and they will just read off the names with no walk. That could cut the time in half.

Even Harvard has black only graduation complete with Kente cloth. Students are encouraged to slaughter the English language and do the worm across the stage.

This is why you don’t walk and just have your diploma mailed to you. People are always miserable at graduation ceremonies yet they still do it

When I graduated from LSU in undergrad, everyone stood up, move their tassels, and were graduates.
We then went and picked up our diplomas from a table with our last name initials - and you hoped your diploma was in the folder and not a note you had unpaid fines.

How about they can do whatever the frick they want when they get off the stage. They can dance until their shoes fall off. No, they have to do it on stage because it’s a “look at me” moment. That’s not what the ceremony is about.
