796. Was over 800. There were 2 recent inquiries that I didn’t make. I think someone applied for loans under my name. I got the rejections in the mail

I got whacked this summer. Paid off a car loan that I was forced into taking to get a deal done—3.5 years early.

Ran up $50k in kids camp fees and summer travel — utilization rate stacked

Score took a dive to 780, so I’m broke as frick living on that super prime edge

Finally in the 700s after my divorce I was in the 500s .

Credit Scores to me are weird. You pay things off and it goes down…. You have no debt and own everything and your score sucks.

Normally bouncing between 659-718. Credit cards should pay off in 26 years, 8 months.

Then I’ll be living off the fat of the land.
Can’t wait!

Credit scores are kind of a shite way to look at financial health in many ways though. My dad has a somewhat crappy score because he doesn't owe anyone anything.

This was my issue because I always paid cash for what I bought mostly. My credit rating was almost non existent even though I everything I have is paid for.

The bad thing is you can’t get a loan very easily without a credit rating. But I do have plenty of collateral though if necessary.

The OT really is a very skewed sample group. Most of us here are in fact very well off, just not the cartoon exaggerated version people like to play. But we are well off for sure, compared to a LOT of people.
