Rude users everywhere. How to terminate account?
Posted by TheCenLACouyon on 9/8/25 at 7:14 am
Hi, anything I post seems to get ulterior hatred of negativity. The one to two weeks of having aTD account has made me realize that no matter what forum I visit, there's a plethora of baws who are too rude for my liking. I'm not snobby or rednecky. Idc about the hoaxes of religion, politics, etc. I'm here to chime in on Louisiana sports and occasionally music or restaurant recommendations. But these last few days have me suicidal. I've been to TD once before and didn't make it beyond 2 days. Your skin must be super thick to converse with the mega BSers. Sorry but I'm too nice and laid back of a guy. How do I terminate my account? Thanks for the opportunity. It's not for me.

A bunch of you folks keep hyper focusing on Nashville. Nashville today is what Florida Georgia Line started 15 years ago. You see how quickly that ish faded. There's no doubt Louisiana country is more lost than LGBT. Lol. If I could delete the entire thread now, I would. I'd also block the toxicity of some of the users who commented very ugly. If my description of country is too progressive and radical from yours, I can guarantee ya you don't want to know my thoughts on a universal deity hahahaha. Hoaxes don't belong in everyday people's lives. You folks are forced (brainwashed) to believe this or that at a young age in order to keep from being in make believe heaven and hell LoL. Yaw and baw need to immerse yourselves in the genius of George Carlin. A man who's 50 years ahead of his time.

You folks who have a severe difference of opinion don't need to be jerks. It was a simple question to a very personal topic. If you're going to a jerk to every new user I suggest you develop manners first. Bullying someone who's tastes that are finely tuned isn't acceptable. I'm almost 50, I don't appreciate some of your posts. There are times I have very thick skin. But you guys are as immature as the sports dudes. Too quick to ascertain your thought(s). Idk what some of you mean by baw. I'm not ghetto nor backwoods trash. I'm close to leaving this website for a 2nd time, and my last. To those of you who chose to be mature in responding, thank you for not popping off with your rudest opinions.

I'd already mentioned Charley Crockett dummy lolol. I guess your parents didn't tell you to read thoroughly. Proofreading only got you so far lol. Your version of country sounds like Miley Cyrus version of disco / funk.

I listened to most of the BS you suggested. There's no band simply called Turnpike or Charley on YT. Red Clay Straws, Silverada, and Sierra Ferrell are terrible. I guess you're referring to that hillbilly Sturgil Sampson?? And Charles Godwin reminds me of the yodeling crap Randy Travis and Post Malone do. I heard maybe two songs by Zach Top I liked. Thanks for everyone's suggestions but we're on different wavelengths here folks. I like an acoustic country. A simple unplugged wooden guitar and a voice without lyrics of drinking, drugs, gambling, honky tonks, etc. Vince Gill was always nice and calming. Willie Nelson is hit or miss. These people playing a metal guitar and a violin can take that bluegrass junk to the mountains where it belongs. We don't listen to that BS in Louisiana!!!!

There was a gentleman who lived 3 houses down from me as a young kid (35-40) years ago who played big time MLB ball in the 50s and 60s. In fact, he probably still holds the infamous title of the 1st (and last) MLB pitcher to have thrown a complete game and lost. Think about it (walking consecutive batters). :wah:  the agony that must've followed him until his death in solice as an old man. I never really had any conversations with him despite riding my bike or walking the hilly street we lived on in Pineville, LA. In 6th grade, I recall trading some NFL and Baseball cards amongst peers only knowing who Bobby Herbert was and not knowing who Mr. Johnson was untl a couple of years later. He graciously signed the 2 cards I obtained and I still hold those close to me like he was a Mantle or Aaron (even though he wasn't). Nobody wants to be known as a negative stat. It's unfortunate.
I have lots of different sports cards as well. Although I'm in my mid-40s, I plan on keeping them until I die and letting one of my nephews or their kids (assuming one has children), they better hurry up (in their early-mid 20's now). My collection includes NFL, NBA, MLB (heavily), and PGA Tour. Anything hockey related I tore to shreds and threw away, if not burned. Hockey is no sport :spank:  :doublebird: Goodluck unloading your collection though. Surely there's a bigger nerd that us that has a boat load of Trump-stamped pennies they'll trade with you.

That's good. Most of what Billy Ray put out was shite, including achy breaky heart. That's not pop. There are times when mainstream artists CAN be treated as country music(ians) but mostly they're simply pop, rock, bluey soul singers. Ryan (Upchurch) is a niche example. He thought he was Kid Rock (rapping) and then he laid down rock-influenced tracks -- the latter pushed me away most. Plus, I used to hang around a small crowd of rough rednecks who didn't know the difference between kid rock, jellypoop, Combs, and a few others. I needed to distance myself from those illegal gun carrying couyons.

Here's the thing, what "I" consider to be "real country" might differ from others perceptions. My country is 100% acoustic, unplugged, raw. No bluegrass crap. Lol in the last few days of posting, I realized my heavy use of emojis showed as question marks. What's up with that!? Anyhow, thanks for everyone's mature responses. Sure seems like I've hit more fellow Gen-X or elder folks who aren't quick to judge you than the football or sports teams. I joined TD a few years ago and after a couple of posts felt suicidal. I stopped the antisocial platform until my persona developed much thicker skin so I could nicely put others in their place or tiptoe off haha.
re: Why do you think The Beatles are the most influential band of our time?
Posted by TheCenLACouyon on 9/6/25 at 1:30 pm to STigers
Screw the Beatles (vomiting). Twist n shout was their one hit. If I had to choose a British band it'd obviously be the Rolling Stones. The UK has a lot of talented musicians and groups though.

The first one I recall seeing is with my parents two months after I graduated from high school, we took a Vegas vacation and the 'rents wanted to see Wayne Newton. 26-27 years ago I don't remember anything (thanks booze). I think I recall liking it but I can tell you my last concert was pre- fake covid seeing Ludacris in Marksville

I can't do Sturgil. I don't recall if he can sing but as an acoustic guitarist, Justin Johnson is very good. He's more bluesy vibes. I checked out Slaid, kind of reminds of an early country Bob Dylan.

"Thing" being an object... the coolest thing under fitty bucks I have is an R39 emulator with over 25,000 games preloaded across even vintage Atari cartridges. Though I grew up on Nintendo and the Super console, I now realize how slowly I react to playing a real video game after having consumed 25 years worth of booze lmao, I'm slow as shite.
