My wife's best friend and the maid of honor in our wedding was shot in the face outside of a CVS in Dallas.

She went out to get ice cream on a Sunday night. Was getting back in her car to drive home when someone walked up to her car and fired a single shot that went in just below her bottom lip and came out of the side of her jaw/cheek.

She drove herself to the hospital after 911 put her on hold. She's still having reconstructive work but looks great. You would never know she had been shot.

Police never found the guy.

HFD fireman a few years ago killed his babies momma. He was a nurse also. Knew him well enough to say “hi”. How’s the kids etc. talk Astros random chatter.

Well this fricker dated another nurse for years. I never knew her. He became crazy possessive and jealous over time. She broke up with him and was in the process of moving out. They were essentially common law married.

He said “frick that shite” got into the house when he was supposed to be working. She was packing. They had an altercation or whatever that escalated to him cutting her up and flipping out in the house for a few hours with her body in the house. Then killed himself. Can’t remember how.

News did a fricking 180 quick. Story first came out how HFD lost another one. The hotel fire that killed 4 was still sort of fresh. They never got the whole story. Pulled those stories down quick when they found out this HFD “hero” was a perpetrator of domestic violence ending in a murder suicide.

Neighbor got fired as a pilot in 70s; left and moved Into bocage with helicopter pad in yard. Looking back he had half the teens in area on payroll. Tom Cruise played him in a movie.

Are you referring to the Bocage subdivision in Algiers or is this another Bocage?

That's wild. She sounds like a badass. He will pay for that in this life or the next.

Went to school all my life with James Magee, and we never said a word to each other:
"On April 18, 2007, James C. Magee shot and killed his wife Adrienne and their five-year-old son, Zack. He also injured his two daughters, nine-year-old S.M. and eight-year-old L.M. At the time of the shootings, James and Adrienne, who wed in 1998, had been married for approximately eight years."

Just walked up to her car, blew her face off in front of his kids, shot one kid that was in the back seat, and gunned the other one down while he was running away from the car.

I hope they put him in a cell that was hotter than the one he was in. frick him. Some people just snap. And that's kind of scary if you think about it. It could happen to anyone. Either snap or have a loved on snap on you

Richard "rick" Dubriel in 2018 in Longview TX murdered his girlfriend (he was also married) and then went to his house and committed suicide. Back in 2004 he was the boss on the first plant job that I ever worked, show me a few of the ropes for the few weeks we were on that job together. Fast forward to 2018 and he and I again were working at a company together, we each remembered who each other were and chatted briefly at the office. A week later was the murder/suicide. Never heard anything concrete as to what happened but rumors were the GF was going to leave Rick for another guy and Rick got mad and possesive about it and then she threatened to tell his wife if he persisted.

Andrew Hundley murdered Terri Pitre in Eunice in 97. My older brother was either same grade or year off of him. I was 4 years younger than them but had met him a few times, he was always kind of outgoing but seemed a sharp dude that was going to be successful. I also know the other guy and his family that was around that night (though he was not involved in the murder)

Brandon Lavergne, who murdered Mickey Schunik, was a neighborhood friend of my wife and her friends when they were younger.

Guy I hired years ago when he was about 18, one of the best interviewees I've had and had a great persona and public perception. He was shot at one night supposedly completely at random on the road by somebody he did not know, but the way he was so adamant about he knew they were trying to murder him and "it wasn't random" stood out to me. He ended up getting fired from work for fighting. Months later he ended up getting shot during a gun sell gone bad. Turns out the demeanor in the interview was mostly an act, he was apparently on/off again with drugs.

An oyster shucker at a restaurant I worked at until April shot his fiancé in the face, drove her to the hospital and said she did it on accident.

Turns out he (Gerald Smith) and her were arguing at a laundry mat when he blatantly dome-pieced her.

Befriended ??? You need a better vocabulary.

A girl I know was held kidnapped for over a week by her fiancé. He threw lighter fluid on her and set her on fire, she lost the baby she was carrying. Bad deal. She was shook up for years over it.

A guy i worked with for multiple years in a department at LSU(we were both students), who was a technical savant, did something quite unstartling.

He was one of the smartest creative people i had worked with at the time. quiet. we were assigned as partners for a whole semester and grew somewhat close. He was really into model airplanes and showed me a jet engine he had for one that was about the size of a box an iphone comes in. That bad boy was so loud, i couldn't hear him or the cars passing us in Hart Lot.

He wanted to be a pilot is what he confided in me later that semester. I thought the dude would be automating light shows for large productions but that would've been too easy for him. But he moved to Vegas and got into airplanes. Starting looking into becoming a pilot and got his license.

The guy could accomplish whatever he wanted too.

Then i was working in a bar and a surreal moment happened. I had heard on FB that he put a suicide letter and a confession letter on his page. the football game ended and 60 minutes came on.

His face was on every TV in the bar. He had admitted to molesting a friend's child in Vegas and that he had always been a pedophile. weird to me, because he just seemed like a huge nerd who had too much to do to be bothered by trivial things in life. But i guess i just didn't really know him.

He stole a plane from the las vegas airport and was going to drive it until it ran out of fuel. but he was talked down by air traffic control and arrested.

I was sent to Vegas for work a while back and wanted to visit him but I ended up not trying to.

He was a great friend and helped me whenever I needed it. I just never knew what was going on between those eyes. I wish I could've helped him or helped him get help.

Given that Tom Cruise played him, this is highly likely to be Barry Seale, who was a pilot and drug smuggler killed outside the Salvation Army halfway house in BR in a professional hit.

My dad was friends with his brother and knew him growing up. Made for a lot of interesting stories from him and one of his other friends who I worked with (didn’t know he and my dad were besties since being kids until years after I started working with him).

Edit - Back to the original question, if this is Seale, it is the Bocage subdivision in BR near Jefferson and Old Hammond / Corporate Blvd.

Pedophiles can't be helped or rehabilitated. It's not a question of if but when.

Look up Jessica Currin.

Her story has been on podcasts and Unsolved Mysteries. Got pregnant by a cop, wouldn’t have an abortion, her body was found behind Mayfield Middle School burnt. Multiple cops had to resign for tampering with evidence.

I went to school with her and her brother. People I know were implicated but found not guilty.

A friend of my cousin abducted, then shot, his girlfriend three times and drove around with her body in his trunk for several days.

Oh, and yeah - I worked at a sporting goods store at the time and may have sold him the gun that he used. I'm not sure, because every now and then an ATF agent would come in to review our 4473's, but rarely discussed details unless necessary. So there's that.

How brainwashed would you have to be to help your coworker get away with murdering his baby mama and unborn baby?
