Was the first internet retailer in LA. TC had the ideal oppty to cash in used golf balls since he was the Mgr. at Le Triomphe at the time. Brilliant idea with perfect timing.

Just to clarify this chick did absolutely nothing when it came to the business.
She did exactly what women have done since the dawn of time to make money.

Supposedly there's a guy here in Brentwood that invented some envelope/package that FedEx started using. Said he gets around 40-60k per day in royalties. Story came from a contractor I know that worked on the guy's $13 million house.

My exGF’s grandfather started a company in the 50’s that produces welt cord.
I had no idea wtf welt or welt cord was. For those of you like me, it’s the rim that helps to hold the fabric together at cushion seams, for example the black part of this cushion
He had fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you money.

White trash relatives in North Louisiana that I've never met discovered oil on their land. Sold the rights to Exxon. The rest is history.
I had a great uncle down in Terrebone Parish that had a bunch of land, but 75% of it was swamp. On the good land he grew some sugarcane and had a few head of cattle and worked as a sugar boiler on the sugar refinery. And then Exxon found a bunch of oil in the swamp part of his property, and cha ching, he became a millionaire.

This is going to blow you young people minds and date me but this is before cell phones.
I know. someone that bought a struggling company that sold pre paid phone cards. You would dial an 800 number, then the long distance number you wanted to call and the cost was like 10 cents a minute anywhere. Landlines would charge much more.
Anyway he bought the company and millions of minutes of cards for pennies on the dollar. Then instead of trying to sell to wal mart and grocery stores like the previous guy did, he started selling them to gas stations in LA, Arkansas, MS and Oklahoma mostly. Worked with mCI Worldcom to purchase the “airtime”. He also created different designs and names and created the mirage of competition, although the fine print all said the same company operated the card.
Made FU money for about two years and then the big boys got in on the game. Only had about five employees. He got out well ahead with a big house, boat and new cars, but he kept trying to chase that kind of money again. Invested in every opportunity someone presented and got burned 9 times out of 10. He didn’t lose everything but had to go back to work a 50k job after clearing that much every month.

Fracking, a gas well in the Haynesville Shale requires about 6 million gallons of water per well for the fracking process, but in the Haynesville shale area water is available from many sources, in the Permian Basin not so much. The high demand and limited supply of water will make it very profitable for anyone that has water to sell.

Friend of mine bought small pieces of land with highway frontage. Very small, less than 20 square feet. He leases that to billboard companies to put up billboards. Made a mint along I-20 in Texas.
