Things like altering a slot machine, marking cards, and violating the rules of table games are all criminal offenses.
*Counting cards is the outlier. You're not technically altering the game; the casino does have the right to not allow you to play, but it's not against the law.

Casinos get almost their entire revenue from addicts and stupid people.
They are predators, but they are predators who generate tax revenue, and therefore they are protected.

Depends on the casino. Shitholes like downtown? Yeah, the vast majority of the people in there are degenerates.
Nicer casinos elsewhere? They make most of their money off of the fewer highend players. The Beau Rivage made over 80% of their revenue from the top 10% of their players.

I was watching a few video demonstrations and most of them look far too obvious - I was thinking there's no way this would go unnoticed. Then I saw a video of a guy rolling one of the dice while sliding a 6 on the other, which greatly increases the odds. I can definitely see a skilled roller/slider pulling this off.

The better way to do it and not be obvious is to set one die on 6 and slide it while letting the other one toss normal. Increases odds in your favor and looks more legit

Dice setting and dice sliding take lots of practice. Especially to be slick enough to get away with it. Takes months of practice to get it down. You have to find the sweet spot for the roll and practice it over and over until you develop muscle memory

Furthermore, rules require that you hit the back wall which is covered with those little pyramids that scatter the dice.
