I have no self-control with these crackers. I will sit there and eat them until I either get sick or run out. Never tried butter on them though.

I spend good money to buy Melba Toast and quality butter at the store, so I can enjoy it at home.

You better believe I'm going to have a few when I'm out as well.

BTW, tried some of this butter at the Central Market. Blew me away. Absolute gold standard for butter.

Why don’t you ask the food board?

I will eat buttered Melba toast.

If you’re bored and want to piss off a waiter go in a place and just order a water and eat the crackers

Kerrygold is what I buy for home use.
President brand was out to try with the fresh breads at Central. I enjoyed the butter more than the breads! I checked the price, I think it was almost twice as much as Kerrygold.

Really fresh Saltines are still excellent. (If you go to east Tennessee, you need to try Ridgewood BBQ up near Bristol Motor Speedway) Their crackers (with blue cheese dip) are so fresh, they're like a whole different food group.

(Waitresses tell us that they order more Saltines than any other restaurant in his sales district.)

Love this stuff. Makes all the difference in the world when baking too.

It depends how hungry I am. I try to save some to eat with the salad. Generally no waverly cracker or Melba toast is safe around me once you’re sit down and start smelling the restaurant food.

One of my mother in laws never bought a Sweet N Low in her life. She cleaned out every restaurant she stopped in.

When my paternal grandmother was still alive, her and my grandfather lived in Las Vegas (well Henderson really, but anyway) Anyway, going to a buffet with her was a real trip. She had her special "buffet purse" that she would carry nothing in it except zip locs. She'd clean the buffets out. I mean one $20 buffet (that she didn't even pay for) and she'd feed her and grandpa off that thing all week. That purse would weigh 20 lbs as we were leaving. You'd say something and she'd be like "what, they're just gonna throw it away anyway"

One time when my oldest was about 5 or 6 we had a family reuinion at their house, we spent a week with them, well we went and visited this candy store in town, where they made their own candies, so they had a tour and then you could sample some of the candies in the gift shop and buy some kinda deal. Anyway , this place was closing down, they had "going out of business " signs up and things were on sale. As we're walking out the door they have one of those old fashioned barrel containers full of packages of those toasted coconut covered marshmallows. Normal price was something like $2 and they had them on sale for $.49. My grandma "oh your grandpa loves these things" as sticks a bag in her purse and walks out the door. I'm like "grandma , you can't just take those that's stealing" her response ? "Eh, they're going out of business anyway, they won't miss em"

I have no will power when it comes to crackers or warm bread and butter. Sometimes, I have crackers and butter, only, for lunch as meal if I've had a tummy ache. It's what my Mom used to give us as children after the stomach virus. That and 7up. Soothing.

This thread has made me want to pick up some Kerrygold and Captain's Wafers for dinner on my way home.
