I actually think making a cpr mannequin that accurately represents the likely build of a cpr recipient would make sense.
However, I didn’t realize lungs, diaphragms, blood capillaries, and oxygen diffusion worked differently in different races

What about the different nose shapes?
The stubby short noses of south east asia, meet the long hooke noses of the middle east, meet the very wide noses of the largest continent.

blame denmark.
99% of these 'rescue annie' manikins come from laerdal out of copenhagen and its high time they bow to the alter of brown crayons and take their licks like everyone else.
eta 'manikin' is the correct spelling here, not 'mannequin'.

Take my word for it, you do not to do CPR on an obese patient let alone an obese mannequin...

The average American is not that thin

Of course the mannequin is white. If it were black no one would want to revive it.

What about lgbt cpr manniquins? Seems more problematical than researchers think.

The CPR dummies are diverse in color and hair type and sort of in gender the we have to use. They just put long hair and boobs on the male face.... isn't that fitting for today's culture?

Probably need cpr manniquins with nose rings.

No lie
I was just wondering LAST NIGHT
When do we start to see WOMANNEQUINS

So CPR works different on other races? Weird
They have mistakenly admitted that there are different species of "human"
We knew that
Thanks for confirming again

I hadn’t thought about this until this thread. I’m not sure I could give successful CPR to a morbidly obese person. That has to be difficult.

You have a point.
You have to be in the 99.998% of obese in order for any EMT or first aid trained person not to be able to find the xiphoid process on a CPR patient. Besides, airway is a bigger problem with 40 chins than compressions are.

the fat one actually makes some sense. more people are going to be over weight/obese in these situations. it probably would be good for them to practice on those type of dummies some aswell.
Agreed. Depth of compression and appropriate chest recoil are key elements of successful CPR. Both of which look and feel different on a fat person/mannequin
The bitching about the color of the inanimate mannequin though is just fricking stupid. Paint them all red to match these fairies’ bleeding hearts. Who tf cares
