I was a freshmen at MHS when he was a senior. I knew him from the old outdoor bball courts at Franco's. He tried out for the high school team wearing board shorts & tennis shoes. Needless to say Coach Priola didn't take him very serious at all. I was 1 of 3 freshmen that made the varsity team over him. Lol he was a real nice guy though.

Last week, I heard Theo Von telling some crazy stories on the Adam Corolla Podcast:

What neighborhood in Covington did Theo live in?

1) Peeping Tom-ing

2) David Duke lived in his neighborhood (shared a back fence) and took him to Franco's Athletic Club with him

3) His friends dad smelled his fingers and then self gratified into a camp fire.

4) Beauty Contest for dolled up nutrias (in Hammond)

I think people tend to forget that comedians tell stories that range from mostly true to taking a situation and adding to it to make it funny. Their job is to be funny, that doesn't always mean telling accurate stories. They tell stories that lead to a joke or to set up a joke. And for some comedians, its about how they say things, now what they say. They are entertainers.

Also, when they find something that really hits with their crowds, they will have different versions of it. And it also depends on their crowd. They have to change things up to appeal to different crowds. You just have to listen to him, take it all with a grain of salt.. while laughing. He says a lot of funny shite. And I know he might not be for everyone. That's cool. Every comedian has people who don't think they are funny, but you can find comedians online who tell the same joke/story at two different shows and each one is its own version.

In many cases, the story evolves. They get a feel for whether or not people enjoy it or what they enjoy the most, then they build on it.

He has also said if he daddy caught them jerking it, he would make them go finish in a hole in the ground and then cover it (I am assuming he is playing on the fact you are shooting out your seed). But sometimes I think it depends on his guest, he will just come up with some crazy shite.. I think just to see the response he gets from them.. on his podcast that is. Like every other comedian, he has his style and I think he is funny as hell.

His full last name is Vonkurnatowski (I can see why he shortened it for show biz) and his parents are big in New Orleans. They own the Orpheum Theater and Tipitinias

Those aren’t his parents. His Dad (1912-1996) was 68 when Theo was born. Obviously related but Theo grew up with a single mom who lives in Arizona . He speaks about this regularly.

Check out his podcast. Salt of the earth and very vulnerable with his audience. Rare that both men and women dig him so much. He does these word salad observations that are legit spark of greatness brilliant. I wish that guy well.

Went to LSU for a while after MTV reality shite show (road rules or something).

We were talking to him about it at party at the Commons right after he got back from the show (before it was on). We thought he was full of shite because he gave generic/vague answers about it.

We would see him around a good bit at other parties. He was always a little weird and awkward. You could definitely tell he was from the Northshore. In the late 90s early 2000s they were all the same.

At one point he was writing articles in the reveille and really came across as try hard .

That's odd, his special was taped at the Civic Theater

Both places have new owners, pretty sure his dad passed away.

Last I heard from a near direct source is, a guy of Jewish persuasion was running for city council, going through the neighborhood door knocking and the next house had a normal name but when the door opened it was David Duke opening it. A few minutes of awkwardness followed with Duke just kinda smirking while the guy quickly said his election spiel and left.
FWIW I’ve seen in rouses recently and he looks rough as frick, hunchback.

Neither of these statements are true. Roland (owned Tips from 96-2018, refurbished the Orpheum in 2013) was an estranged, much older half brother.

AB on Theo's podcast today

I find he’s much funnier conversationally making jokes off the cuff than he is doing his standup.

His podcast has good guests and he makes it pretty funny while still letting them have a good conversation.

Theo Von has such a unique talent to relate with people. I think he’s the first person I’ve ever heard that could “speak AB” in a way that the audience could follow along as well.

Growing up on the Northshore in the 70s-90s some of that shite happened.

I’m pretty sure the people were being molested at Perry’s Putt Putt( my dad wouldn’t let me near there) and the great Tulane Primate Center escape happened.

He’s a great “radio” personality. His interview with $uicideboy$ still has 2 of the best things he’s done on that show:

1) $B: here’s a clip of our show in Russia.
TV: awww man, I didn’t know they had 13 months in Russia (because they do DD/MM/YY

2) $B: what’s that thing they eat all of the time in Russia?
TV: pussy

He was a Francos regular as was/is Duke. The rest of those are likely tales for a good story. Theo is good people, been awhile since I have seen him.

His standup is average, but where he really shines is his random conversations on his podcast. Also his interview with Trump was interesting and hilarious at the same time.
