Lol yeah ok. Mask don't prevent the flu. If it did then they would have been using for years

During the 2009 pandemic of an emerging influenza A virus (IAV; H1N1pdm09), data from several European countries indicated that the spread of the virus might have been interrupted by the annual autumn rhinovirus epidemic.
quote:
These findings show that one respiratory virus can block infection with another through stimulation of antiviral defences in the airway mucosa, supporting the idea that interference from rhinovirus disrupted the 2009 IAV pandemic in Europe. These results indicate that viral interference can potentially affect the course of an epidemic, and this possibility should be considered when designing interventions for seasonal influenza epidemics and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

First off tone your tude down. Second I don't believe Jack the cdc says or corrupt scientists. Quit being so gullible. Open your eyes and see what is going on. Its all about the election. Sensoring conservatives, shutting down youtube channels for no reason. Only an idiot or a blind person doesn't see what is going on. This virus was created to stop trump from winning again. But it won't work trump is playing chess against these democrats playing checkers.

If you do what you are supposed to for Covid, how do you get the flu? Covid is more contagious and between mask, hand washing, and distance the flu is a non story this year.

Just imagine being a person that thinks hospital workers actually wore masks around before this and even now most aren't doing it because it is a waste.
To claim the reason for hospitals in surgery situations wearing masks is why we need to wear masks is the dumbest take away of all of this.
No doctor has ever just gone around checking on people with a mask you coronabro retards.

Since no one replied to my question I will ask again....
Can you be asymptotic for CIVID and have symptoms for the Flu and be positive for both at the same time?
How would you know?

But we're talking about flu cases being down by 97%, not flu deaths.
Low hanging fruit eliminated from covid would have spread the flu at a high rate to others in their social groups, places of gathering or in a lot of cases nursing homes.

Hey guess what: the Czech Republic didn't actually implement that mask mandate in September because there was an election coming up.
"Oof", indeed.

Ya, they did.

10th September 2020
Confirmed: Masks are back inside in the whole Czech Republic
As a response to the deteriorating epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic, wearing a mask inside is mandatory from Thursday, September 10, in the whole Czech Republic.
The public indoor spaces include the public transport, shops, public offices, post offices, indoor events (regardless of the number of participants), common areas at schools, workplaces (if the 2-metre distance cannot be ensured), public offices and restaurants (if you are not consuming food).
From September 9, Prague’s restaurants and bars have to be closed between midnight and 06:00.

Ya, they did.
Nah.

But when the then-Health Minister Adam Vojtech announced masks would again become compulsory in most indoor spaces, Babis said no. A day later, Vojtech walked back many of the new rules. Madar resigned a few days later.
Masks were very unpopular the first time around, so Babis raised a lot of the restrictions (and people probably didn't follow what was left in place anyway). So then toward the end of September he began begging people to follow the rules, but it was too late.

Where is your quote from? And what rules were walked back?
Odd, considering every single news report said they did. To include CNN.
ETA: I see you're busting out the crawfish moves.
"They didn't have a mandate in place."
"Well, there was a mandate, but it was restricted and no one followed it."
What's the next crawfish?

Where is your quote from?

Any sort of clarification is called "crawfishing", eh?
Let's be clear: the Czech Republic did NOT implement the same mask mandates in September that they did in the spring, nor were the other rules as strict.

Your original post:
But they actually did implement a mask mandate in September.
I still am waiting to see exactly what was scaled back. Your article has zero details.

quote:A mask mandate, maybe. Who knows how lax it was? As you've noted, details are sparse. If there were details about the actual rules, who knows how well they were followed? All we know is that Babis rejected the initial rules in September because they were unpopular and he was up for re-election.
But they actually did implement a mask mandate in September.
The only thing that is certain is that the chart is highly misleading, as it was designed to be. The spring and September marks are not comparable.

That's not what you're arguing. You said there wasn't a mask mandate. He said there was. frick wondering how it was enforced.
I'm tired of this argument that the population is to blame. "Nobody is taking this seriously!"
You go fricking sit at home with your lack of rent/mortgage and feel like you're making a difference by not sitting in a starbucks or going to the movies. We have shite to do.
Perhaps this is an old fashioned purge of the weak? and whatever measures are implemented will help the strong and do nothing for the weak? Why is that so difficult to consider? I certainly don't want that, but maybe that is what this is.

quote:Look, I know that you have to believe what you do because everyone has to "pick a side" these days. I get it. But when you read articles posted Sept 9th and 10th that say the mask mandates are "back", those are reports on what the Health Minister announced, when he announced it. Every article after those dates talk about how they were not implemented as announced, mostly at the urging of Babis, with a lot of talk about the October election.
