Am I bad person for having no sympathy for these deadbeat losers when they get put out on the street? They chose to take advantage of the fear mongering from Covid to spend foolishly. I feel bad for their children but that's about it. We are entirely too nice to the idiots that live in our country. Everyone has the same opportunity to make a decent living in this country. The poor me, victim shite is getting old. Where I live in Iowa (lower cost of living) is paying 13$ an hour to start out at Popeyes, no reason you can't pay your bills if you work 40 hours a week on that wage with minimal education and life skills.

They have a system. It’s often the same people who skip all the time anyway. You think they’re worried about ruining their credit, but they just get one of their girlfriends/boyfriends to lease the apartment so they can live there. As long as they’re getting rent on time, there are a lot of properties that won’t worry too much about if the person living there is on the lease or not. Many will, but there’s always someone who’s just looking for someone to help keep the property at a manageable occupancy that keeps them in the black.

They still run as usual until they go up for auction. They don’t shut down.

I realize this. The problem is they will definitely go up for auction and those folks will be out on the street.

Yep. Last one I was involved with took a year, though. Thankfully while I was there we could evict and I did.

I’ve got a terrible feeling this is about to be extended.

Best case scenario I see for this guy is to apply for rent relief for his tenants to be paid directly to himself while still trying to sell the place. Of course no telling how long it takes for an application to be approved. It probably takes months rather than weeks, and he doesn't have the cash to float himself until then.

I’m hoping they don’t extend it again, but I’m expecting the worst

But, Kavanagh said it's unconstitutional, but he's cool with it since it ends on 7/31.

I wonder what he dumb arse will do when it's extended?

Liberal logic, protect yourself from the government frick up by using a different government frick up.

The video showed Bon Carre Apartments on Harry Dr. Not even close to Burbank lol.

Any complex around Bon Carre, Harry Dr, and the North Donmoor area would be getting Section 8 money.

Why should he get a loan for something that rightfully belongs to him?

In talking to other guys around the country in my profession, expect a massive wave of foreclosures in the not too distant future...in the big cities on the West Coast.

I have a buddy that's been granted a few evictions inside BR, but they have all been for cause (dogs, too many people, AC with no filter) and their lease is pretty iron clad. His family has been doing this for quite some time to some of the worst cash renters in the city (no section 8)

This is exactly where these policies are headed.
