They did legalize it. You can buy raw milk in Louisiana now. There are a few companies statewide selling. If you’re on FB look up “Raw Milk Louisiana” group. If not look up Jarrell Bros dairy. I believe they have the largest operation so far

Regularly Drinking Raw milk is dangerous as hell. It's a virtual paradise island for pathogens to grow in.
Pasteurization is the friend of the filthy farmer.
Do you know how many people have died from raw milk consumption in the last 30 years (which as far back as the milk Nazis have been trying to track it)? Zero. ZERO.
Know how many people die EACH YEAR from raw oysters? 15. That's fifteen.
You don't hear anyone calling for a ban of raw oysters. Food freedom. Don't listen to the CDC and our fat f*** Ag Commish. With them it's about control and price setting.
Btw, 80% of the milk you buy in a Louisiana grocery store comes from out of state. That includes Kleinpeter. A lot of it from Arizona, where there are radiation levels in the milk that should deem it unfit for consumption.

Pasteurized oysters suck compared to raw fresh oysters. Why would milk be different?

I could tell Browns Dairy chocolate milk blind against all other brands. It had a different texture which I really liked. Their eggnog was unbeatable.

They do and it’s great milk. Also I use it to make cheese. I buy the plain raw milk not the A2/A2 which has an added protein. $9.00 gallon and they deliver to Target parking lot on Millerville on Saturday morning at 7:00am.
You can go to the dairy and buy it too in Kentwood.

They only legalized it for pet consumption and it has to be marked as such, making it difficult to purchase at stores.

All Kleinpeter labeled milk comes from Louisiana and Mississippi dairy farms. All of which are pretty much smaller family owned operations.

Dairy farms can sell 500 gallons of cow or
goat milk a month for human consumption. They direct market. It cannot be sold wholesale for retail sale so they sell it themselves. Which is what I buy from Jarrell Brothers.

That looks terrible. I would not buy it. Grew up with Barber‘s Diary milk man delivering. Still have the milk box that sat by the back door where we deposited the empties and the milk man put the full glass bottles when he delivered.

1836 Farms whole milk. Comes in a glass bottle.
Having done this for a while, I have found that milk from a plastic jug tastes like plastic, and milk from a paper carton tastes like paper. Not good.

Grew up on a dairy farm with Jersey cows. Best milk there is. Would buy Promised Land milk when it first came out in a glass bottle. Don't drink much milk these days but I don't see the regular milk offering, nor the glass bottle anymore.
Holsteins are milk machines producing more is why it's the most common.
Jersey and Guernsey are the best foe flavor, IMO.
Locally it was Borden, Guth or Leading Dairy. It was either a national brand or local back in the day.
There was a local to Baton Rouge I found several years ago, but it was inconsistent in flavor, Feliciana's Best Creamery creamline.

I grew up on a dairy farm and drank raw milk my entire life. When the cows were sold I’d get raw milk from my brother in law. When he sold his cows I stopped drinking milk. Even whole milk purchased in a store doesn’t taste right to me.
I’m 49, my dad is 82, my brother is 52. In our combined 183 years of life the three of us have had exactly zero health issues as a result of consuming raw milk. No one in my immediate family has. I do not recommend that everyone starts drinking it. Especially if you were not raised on the stuff. From a very, very young age it’s the only milk we ever drank.

Yep. A simple Google search confirms NO way that could have happened.
