Could you swim across the Mississippi River?

credit the woman swimmer thread for the basis of this one...

I'm confident I could make it. IMO, the key is not to fight the currents but flow with them until they weaken and then continue progressing across.

Who's on my level?

I wouldn’t get halfway. I have my doubts this woman made it across.

I could make the distance, but not a chance with the river flowing

You're speaking to the 1978 10yr old 50m backstroke champion of Jefferson Parish son. Show some God Damn respect.

You'll need to set some rules. For example swimming the river in LA vs. MN is a big difference. To answer you question (in Louisiana) - HELL NO

I would think most people would not be able to swim across the Mississippi River.

Michael Phelps couldn’t swim across it up here.

Why are yall saying no? Would the current pull you under? I mean, if not I think I could swim it. I may be 10 miles downstream when I get across, but I'd get across.
