I would gargle peanut butter for 10 days if it would cure my worst health problem.

It seems like fasting that long would severely frick up your metabolism.
What do you people do for work that you could perform without eating for 10 days?

Only water, coffee, and occasional diet drink. Fasting this long actually might cure some of different people's problems but obviously not all of them. This is more a test of your willpower.
If it was guaranteed to work and my issue wouldn't come back, yes. I have decent willpower when it comes to food/eating.

Exchange juiced citrus for coffee in morning and I'm in.
I've done a few fasts.
The thing that worked miracles from me was not fasting. Drink middle 3rd of urine first thing in morning (along with vegan mostly raw diet).
Fasting is handy way to lose 8 or 10 lbs.

It's also beneficial to repurpose your shite into a nice savory sweet snack.

I do 16 hour fasts daily. Between workouts and a manual labor job, I need to eat at some point.

Not to mention the grocery savings...

Science indicates it resets your metabolism and helps reduce and regulate insulin spikes

I did a liquid diet for 1 month due to stomach surgery and it almost killed me.

I have a few co-workers(most have retired,) that were former guests at the Hanoi Hilton, that would be a gourmet feast for them, those were some tough SOBs

I had bariatric surgery this past May.
I was on a strict liquid, non sugar diet/fast for 16 days. It was ok after the first 5 days. All I could have was 60gms protein in a smoothie made with water, water, decaf coffee, and plain chicken broth.
After surgery, I went another 10 days of liquid only.
But it was worth it. I'm down 100 pounds, walking/running 4 miles a day, and training to do a Tough Mudder comp next April.
Hell to get old and fat!!!! Don't do it.

I have been doing intermittent fasting. Good stuff. There are a ton of videos that put fasting into perspective. The biggest takeaway I had from one was pretty much our entire life was programmed to eat breakfast at 8-9am, lunch around 12pm, and a dinner at 6-7pm. Most people don’t make it on fasting cause they give up quickly. After a week or so it becomes the new “normal” and you are basically rewiring your brain for food intake.
