Could you fast for 10 days if it would cure your worst/most annoying health problem?

Only water, coffee, and occasional diet drink. Fasting this long actually might cure some of different people's problems but obviously not all of them. This is more a test of your willpower.

Ive been experimenting with fasting lately. I really like the science behind the theory that fasting can reduce your chance for cancer. Have done tons of 24 hour fasts but have just knocked down a couple of 2 day fasts and a 3 day fast. Would like to do 5.

To me, hunger is not the obstacle but rather the deviation from routine and to a certain extent boredom. When you are busy and working, its not a problem at all but downtime is the worst.

Well one of my health problems is getting hypoglycemic if I go too long without eating so no...this would just make me feel even worse.

Fasting, if you do the research and do it properly, is extremely beneficial to detoxifying and resetting the equilibrium in the body.

A dude at work does a 7-day water fast every three months. After the first 3-days he said it's pretty much smooth sailing. He does cross-fit, rock climbs etc., so in before someone thinks he may be a fatty. He is eccentric in character but swears by the process of fasting.

Not necessarily. In fact it could help as it helps to control insulin spikes.

I have read up on it a bit and they say the first 24 hours is the worst. It seems the mistake that most people make is that they confuse thrist for hunger. The most important thing seems to be staying well hydrated.

I have a busted knee/distal femur that hurts like hell and keeps me from doing a lot of physical activity I used to love. I'll have to have knee replacement surgery when I'm old enough. There is basically no other treatment for it except a quarterly steroid shot that helps with pain minimally for a few weeks.

If I could cure that by fasting for 10 days I would absolutely do it no question. 10 days is a long time without any food at all and it would suck and is not healthy to do, but it would be worth it.

But obviously fasting won't do shite for my problem.

I didn't fast because I thought it would be a good idea or anything. I had some cancerous thyroid nodules removed from my neck, and a complication of the surgery was the surgeon nicked a phlegm vein (not sure what it's called) and a couple of days later my neck started swelling up.

Went back to the surgeon and had another surgery to fix that, but I couldn't intake anything but water, black coffee, and clear broth for two weeks so I wouldn't produce phlegm.

As far as health benefits go, I lost 5-10 lbs. I was thinking it would be more but after a week I think my metabolism just dropped into low and stayed there.
