Nobody wears watches anymore. They are trashy and unnecessary, unless you are a diver or something.

Rolex is trashy, new money. Nothing screams I just made my first $500k like a bull shite Rolex.
Say what you want i've owned something from most of the big mid level brands and nothing holds value like a stainless rolex sports (except for MAYBE PP)

I have a mechanical Folex with a real Rolex band.
I never wear it. Only occasionally around my parents to make them think I'm throwing money away.

Which reminds me. How are you liking your new watch?
However, I want you to mow a few millimeters shorter when you trim the putting greens at the Spring vacation home. And if you keep forgetting to trim consummate V’s into the hedges i’m afraid you’ll have to be the quarry at next hunt.
Send Consuela, and little Jose and Maria my acknowledgment for the holidays.

You can buy 72 eggo waffles for like 7 dollars:
You talking name brand Eggo? That’s less than $1 per waffle. I’m gonna jump on that.
Strong math going on here

Got tired of grabbing my phone just to know the time. I would hate myself less for the 63K watch then after I downed a 37K scotch.

Stainless Rolex and Patek (particularly the stainless Nautilus variations) probably have the best price retention. for production watches. There are always the oddballs like the Speedmaster Snoopy and Speedy Tuesday watches.

What exactly makes a watch "good"?
$10 Wal Mart watches will tell time
I could tell you but you wouldn't understand.

How's the value on them around MRI's and other strong magnets?

My Milgauss and several of my Omegas with the 8500 movements and variants would be just fine. I have only magnetized one watch and it takes 5 minutes to fix with a degausser. If you need a watch to handle very high magnetic fields they do exist.
You could read the history of the Rolex Milgauss which was initially designed for CERN scientists in 1956. Of note, the ones actually used at CERN and other research facilities did not use radium on the dial in order to avoid affecting experiments with radioactivity. All the watch dial lume then was radioactive. The CERN dial Milgauss watches are highly prized.
