$1 worth of materials being sold for $700...that shows what an insane amount of liability there is in the sale of that product.

Well, there will always be dirtbags. There is no difference in the corporate dirtbags you loathe and the government dirtbags you try to empower. You will never be able to get rid them completely, you can only mitigate their ability to be dirtbags.

Probably because narcissistic sociopaths are the most likely people to run for office.

Finally, something we agree on.

Maybe it's because the profession attracts the corrupt, which is a good fricking reason to keep the size, scope, and power of government in check.

Some guy here will get elected county commissioner, won't have squat when elected, but by the time he's out he'll have a nice house, some land, etc.
The Clintons are a good example.

We probably agree on a lot, but have different solutions to the problem. No one likes paying more, but competition, not price capping is the best method of ensuring affordability.

I wish someone like Ron Paul would be running. This might surprise you, but I have a lot of libertarian in me. But, I figure we're stuck with big government so might as well put it to good use.

If you are concerned about this, there are ways to address this using monetary and non-monetary things.
For example, we could offer double R&D tax credits for research into certain medical conditions. We could also target government/public research university funding into those areas.
So the solutions to the problems of government intervention and unintended consequences is more government intervention.

I take allergy shots and it pisses me off when they expire. I know they're still good after a yr. Nothing but a racket

What would he think about your suggestion for price caps and turning the office of President into a pen-wielding dictator?

Dog heartworm medicine is another racket - there is an easy cheap alternative that uses the same ingredient.

That's the problem, there is no good use. The larger it grows the more problems it creates.

bullshite. This is pure greed. If you don't buy it your kid might die. People have to buy it.

B shares at best.

Nah, this is legit marketing, lobbying, and failure by competitors. The FDA used to require a previous case of anaphylaxis before an EpiPen could be prescribed. That restriction was removed and anyone "at risk" can now get a prescription. They also marketed the hell out of the pen and now almost every school system has multiple group prescriptions.

You're starting to get it. Government is the problem.
Both are a problem. The government enables them.
