For the thousandth time it's to slow the transmission rate to allow hospitals to keep up.

The US tested about 14,000 people and we have about 1,500 cases. If the positive test rate is 10% what would lead something to conclude there's 100,000+ cases in Ohio already?

Which would work if all of the parents were going to be home to take care of the kids. My question is what's going to happen with all of the parents who haven't been sent home yet?

Someone has to watch those kids too.

Hospitals in Louisiana will have a hard time keeping up now that a large percentage of their nurses who are working mothers will be staying home with the kids

Or the elderly retired grandparents that normally stay home on a Tuesday, will not be watching their grandkids and going out and about to parks and movies etc

I didn't say it would work, I said that's the strategy.

Businesses will be forced to respond now that mandatory school closures have been implemented. My husband has been working on a plan for coverage nationwide for over a week so they would be ready when this happened.

My state has announced schools closures too

My parents who are retired and spend most of their time at a lake house alone, are now actually booking a flight to travel here and stay with the kids.

You can’t make this stuff up

What about healthcare workers with kids? Restaurants? Grocery stores? These places have to stay open, but are also being asked to provide care for their children.

This isn't even taking into account the speculation that children may be major carriers & spreaders because they don't typically show symptoms.
